While the 2017 KTM RC 200 just gets a new paint job, the RC 390 receives a bunch of mechanical updates as well.

A recently leaked brochure of the 2017 KTM RC 390 and RC 200 has revealed all the details of the motorcycles ahead of their launch in India. While the latter receives mostly visual updates, the former gets some major mechanical alterations as well.

The 2017 KTM RC 200 gets a new white-black livery with orange graphics. According to the leaked brochure, the bike also gets 12mm of extra padding on the pillion seat to make it slightly more comfortable as compared to the existing version. The updated Euro 4 complaint motor continues to deliver 25PS of power and 19.2Nm of torque, however, the update has added 10kg of extra weight to the bike which now weighs 147.5kg (without fuel).

While, on the other hand, the bigger 2017 KTM RC 390, also receives a new black-orange paint scheme with white graphics. To comply with the Euro 4 emission standards, the engine gets a lot of alterations including a new dual-stage side-slung muffler. The updated 373.3cc single offers 1Nm of extra torque, increasing the total output to 36Nm, while the power output remains unchanged at 43.5PS.

Moreover, the new KTM RC 390 will also get a bigger 320mm front brake disc endowing it with a better braking performance. It could also get the more cushioned pillion seat like its younger sibling. All the changes result in an increase in weight by 16.5kg, making it weigh 163.5kg (without fuel).

Other features of the bikes, such as the cast wheels, WP suspension setup with USD front forks and the rear monoshock, 230mm rear disc brake, etc. remain untouched. The advanced features of the RC 390 like the slipper clutch, dual channel ABS and ride-by-wire also continue with 2017 model. Both the bikes are expected to arrive at the Indian shores later this year.
