While the bikes have already reached some dealerships, Bajaj is going to make official launch announcement for the 2017 Pulsar 150, 180 and 220F soon.

A few months ago, managing director of Bajaj Auto, Rajiv Bajaj had informed the media that the company was going to launch the 2017 range of the Pulsar before the end of this year. While the bikes have already reached some of the Bajaj dealerships in the country, the company has started teasing the motorcycles through social media and other platforms. Hence, we can expect an official launch of these bikes within a few days which will give more clarity on the updates in the motorcycles. However, this is what we have learnt so far:

2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220F:

While the most noticeable change in the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220F is the matte black exhaust muffler, the biggest update in the motorcycle is the BS-IV (Bharat Stage - IV) compliant engine. It is the same 220cc, air/oil-cooled motor that delivers 21PS of power and a peak torque of 19.2Nm, but, now, it meets the stricter emission norms as well. Also, the updated engine has been reported to be more responsive and refined as compared to the existing one. Along with a new colour on the crankcase, the bike gets new graphics. Additionally, the 220 moniker on the rear cowl also gets back the "F" suffix. Other updates on the bike include a blue backlit LCD display for the instrument console and new textured seats which are softer as well.

2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180:

Like its elder sibling, the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180 also gets new graphics and a BS-IV update for the engine, along with a new instrument display and improved seats. However, there is another major update in this one and that is the 230mm rear disc brake which was always a prime requirement of this motorcycle. It is the same unit that is found on the bigger Pulsar 220F, but we are not sure whether it will be provided as standard or an optional extra.

2017 Bajaj Pulsar 150:

Since its inception, Bajaj Pulsar 150 has led its respective segment by a good margin and the company might not want to do many experiments with this hit formula. According to reports, the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 150 misses on the BS-IV update and will get the update later. However, the engine refinement has been reported to be better and the clutch effort is also lesser in the updated model. Like its elder siblings, the bike gets new graphics along with a textured and better-cushioned seat but continues with the orange backlit display instead of getting the new blue one.

Apart from these updated Pulsar models, Bajaj has also announced to launch the BS-IV compliant Avenger. The company could also launch its new flagship, the Kratos VS400, in the market soon which might be called Dominor 400 as per some new reports.
