The much awaited Bajaj Pulsar RS400 is all set to follow the CS400 and will be launched this year in Diwali with an expected price tag close to Rs. 1.6 lakh.

 Bajaj Pulsar RS400

Pune-based motorcycle manufacturer, Bajaj Auto, is planning to add new flagship model in its Pulsar range of performance motorcycles. It had showcased two concept motorcycles at the 2014 Auto Expo which included the Pulsar RS400 and the CS400. Now the manufacturer is shaping the imagination into a reality and is finally bringing those models to the market with minimal changes.

Earlier, we reported that Bajaj is going to launch the sports cruiser- Pulsar CS400 by the mid-2016. Now, the company officials have told us that the Pulsar RS400 is also coming this year by the festive season of Diwali. Both the bikes will be powered by the same 375cc single-cylinder mill that will be based on the engine of KTM's 390 Duke and the RC 390, which are manufactured at Bajaj's facility in India. The liquid-cooled motor might come with the Bajaj's Triple-Spark technology and it is expected to produce around 41PS of power and deliver a peak torque of approximately 30Nm.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS400 will share the bumble bee like styling with its younger sibling- the RS200, which is already a successful product in the market. The key style features of the bike are the edgy body fairing with masculine fuel tank, twin projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, crystal LED tail lights and the sporty muffler, which makes it stand apart from its competitors.

The suspension set-up of the Pulsar RS400 will get beefier telescopic front forks and mono-shock at the rear. It will get bigger disc brakes on both the front and the rear wheel and the tyres will be also wider than the RS200. The bike will get Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) as a standard or optional for sure, however, time will tell that it will be a single-channel or dual-channel system.

Bajaj is a manufacturer which is always appreciated for the aggressive pricing of its products. Keeping this fact in mind, we can expect the upcoming Pulsar RS400 to be priced close to Rs. 1.6 lakh for the base variant and if that happens, it will be a great bang for the buck.
