TVS Sport BS6 vs TVS Radeon BS6- Family Feud

Which 110cc TVS motorcycle is right for you?

Which 110cc TVS motorcycle is right for you?

TVS has several commuter motorcycles in its lineup with the latest being the Radeon. As part of the BS6 update, TVS increased the engine capacity of its Sport commuter motorcycle, which now shares its new BS6 fuel-injected motor with the Radeon but caters to a slightly different audience. So which one is a better option for you?

Powertrain:

Both the TVS Sport and the Radeon have the same motor but different power outputs. The Sport, interestingly, makes 0.10PS more than the Radeon. Both motorcycles, however, have the same torque output. While both are fuel-efficient, the Radeon is aimed at the conservative buyer whose primary focus is getting the best mileage.

The Sport and the Radeon have a similar frame, suspension and braking setup. You get an optional front disc brake on the Radeon Commuter Bike of the Year edition though. The Radeon gets larger 18-inch wheels that should offer a better ride quality while the Sport’s 17-inch wheels make it sportier.

The Radeon has a longer wheelbase which should help it offer a stable ride. It also gets better ground clearance but being a larger motorcycle, it weighs 4kg more. Both have the same fuel tank capacity and given their low seat heights are easier to manage.

Features:

Both scooters are quite barebones when it comes to features. The Sport gets a halogen headlamp with a bulb-type tail lamp, turn indicators, and an analogue instrument console with a speedometer and a fuel gauge. You get similar features on the Radeon with the addition of an LED DRL.

Verdict:

Ex-showroom price

Rs 52,500 to Rs 59,675

Rs 59,742 to Rs 65,742

The TVS Sport comes in two variants: kick start and self start. Its more premium cousin gets three variants: base self start, Commuter Bike of the Year drum edition and disc edition. While the Sport is the most affordable TVS commuter motorcycle you can buy, for the top-spec variant’s price, you get the Radeon which despite its conservative styling feels more premium. If you are on a tight budget, it makes sense to opt for the TVS Sport as you are getting the same powerplant and underpinnings as the Radeon. The Radeon though is the one to go for given its better seat comfort, riding position and premium styling, which makes it look like a more expensive motorcycle.

Most durable in 110cc class.

Most durable and well built. But the Radeon has an advantage over it's rivals and that's the exhaust note with quite nice engine performance for a 110cc and looks are balance between style and practicality. Very economical over long term usage. Excellent for small business and load carrying capacity because of it's robust built quality. Cons: Breaking could be better. Seat foam hardens over time making it uncomfortable.Read More
