TVS Jupiter 110 vs Hero Destini 110: Detailed Comparison

The TVS Jupiter 110 is one of the best-selling scooters in India. Hero wanted a piece of the action, so it introduced the Destini 125, then followed by the Hero Destini 110. In its latest-generation version, it gets quite a few tricks up its sleeve to put up a proper fight. Here’s a detailed comparison:

Price & Variants

• There’s a slight gap in both scooters’ entry prices but it’s not big enough for you to reject one for the other. That said, it’s interesting to note that the Destini’s disc brake variant, the ZX, costs less than the Jupiter’s disc brake variant, the Disc SXC. A front disc brake is something we recommend all the time for our unpredictable roads, so that’s one point to the Destini for sure. 

• The ZX variant also has a backrest. While it may not sound very important, it makes the pillions’ lives very comfortable, not only supporting the lower back, but also helps in sitting securely as it prevents sliding backwards while accelerating. That combined with the disc brake means the premium the ZX charges over the VX is worth it.

Dimensions & Design 

• These two scooters have low seat heights and are reasonably narrow, meaning everyone in the house can ride them with ease.  

• While both look modern, some might like the chrome highlights on the apron in the Destini 110. The Jupiter 110 looks a little more futuristic thanks to the light bars at the front and the rear.

Features & Safety

• The Hero Destini 110 keeps it simple with a semi-digital console even on the top variant. 

• The Jupiter 110, meanwhile, is loaded with features. From Bluetooth connectivity to even voice assistance, the scooter’s higher variants have a lot of useful goodies.

Engines

• Our favourite aspect about the Destini is its engine, which has a strong punch. It’s actually the more powerful of the two, and you will feel that it has a lovely punch right off the go. There’s a good amount of power lower down the revs so you will end up cutting through traffic pretty quickly. 

• The TVS Jupiter 110 also has a grunty engine and it’s almost a tie here. The one party trick that the TVS scooter has up its sleeve is the iGo assist. Open the throttle hard and you will get that extra torque you need when trying to overtake someone quickly.

Verdict 

The Hero Destini 110 comes across as quite a nice scooter but so is the TVS Jupiter 110. If you want a scooter with a bit more bold styling and can do without a lot of features, the Destini 110 is an easy, and more importantly, a more affordable choice. That said, the Destini’s boot space isn’t as large as Jupiter's. 

However, if you are willing to spend the extra money for a much larger boot, then the Jupiter 110 is the one for you. As an added bonus, you also get a whole bunch of useful features.

Comparisons With Other Rivals:

• The Honda Activa 110 isn't as practical as the TVS Jupiter 110, as the former has a smaller underseat storage. 
• Another option from Honda is the Dio 110, which may look cool, but isn't as practical as the Jupiter 110 either.
• When compared to the Hero Destini Prime, the Jupiter looks much more modern, and gets more features too.
• Even though the Hero Pleasure Plus Xtec is meant to be a feature-loaded version of the Pleasure Plus, it is still more affordable than the 110cc Jupiter.
• An eco-friendly alternative is the Bajaj Chetak C2501. It looks funky, while offering reasonable range without costing too much.
• Compared to the Xoom 110, the Xoom looks a lot sportier than the Jupiter 110.
• The TVS iQube 2.2kWh offers more advanced features, along with lower running costs when compared to the Jupiter 110.
• The TVS Scooty Zest 110 is also an option to consider from the same brand, and it is cheaper than the Jupiter.
