The Jupiter has once again managed to pip the Access for the runners-up spot

The latest SIAM report shows a positive growth for the auto sector for February 2021 compared to 12 months ago. The industry then was a bit weak as everyone was busy getting their products BS6-compliant. Now, with the industry back in full force, we have seen a boom, especially in the personal mobility space. Scooters have always been popular choices for intra-city commutes and here are the five highest selling scooters from the past month.

Honda Activa: 2,09,389 units sold

Was there even a doubt which scooter was going to top the list? One must keep in mind that these are the combined sales figures of both the Activa 6G and the Activa 125, the more-preferred one being the 110cc offering. Such is the Activa’s popularity that it managed to outsell the combined sales figure of every other ICE scooter sold from the number three spot. Add the Jupiter’s sales and the Activa falls short of the mark by around 46,000 units.

TVS Jupiter 110: 52,189 units sold

For the second month running, the TVS Jupiter has managed to stay the best of the rest. It received a few updates in the form of an idle-start/stop system and a silent starter motor.  The features are only available on the ZX Disc version of the scooter and they arrived at no extra cost.

Suzuki Access 125: 48,496 units sold

Suzuki’s Access has been ruling the roost when it comes to the 125cc segment. The traditionally-styled scooter is one of the quickest and most frugal scooters out there. In our test of the fun 125cc offerings, it even managed to rank third, coming in after the Suzuki Burgman Street and TVS NTorq 125.

Honda Dio: 28,171 units sold

Speaking of sporty, zesty scooters, the Honda Dio has been a darling for college-goers for decades. In its current guise, it is said to be smoother, comfier, and also comes with a lovely Repsol Edition livery. Its popularity has been challenged a lot, especially by the next scooter in this list, but the Dio remains one of the best scooters to hoon around.

TVS NTorq 125: 24,555 units sold

Race Edition, SuperSquad or standard, whichever variant of the TVS NTorq 125 you opt for, you are in for a delight. This sharp and edgy scooter is one of the best two-wheelers we have seen rolled out of Hosur. It has lost some initial pull after its BS6 updates but it still remains one of the most fun scooters out there. Don’t believe us? Why not check out our mega 125cc comparison where the NTorq 125 was only narrowly edged out by the Burgman.
