Sure, these two-wheelers were cool, but it was their taglines that also played a huge role in turning them into icons

India’s love affair with two-wheelers is as much about emotion as it is about engineering. From roaring cruisers to efficient commuters, motorcycles have long been more than just a mode of transport - they are expressions of identity, freedom, and aspiration.

But what truly cemented their place wasn’t just horsepower or mileage. It was words - simple, powerful taglines that brands used to turn their products into icons, and riders into loyalists. Here’s a look at five unforgettable two-wheelers whose taglines not only defined their brand, but also rewrote the rules of advertising in India’s two-wheeler industry.

    Royal Enfield

    “Made Like a Gun”

Few taglines in Indian automotive history carry the weight and legacy of “Made Like a Gun.” Inspired by Royal Enfield’s origins as a British arms manufacturer, the phrase was originally coined in the early 20th century to reflect military-grade durability.

When the Bullet was introduced to India, the tagline naturally followed, tapping into the subconscious appeal of strength and reliability. And, over the decades, it evolved into a cultural statement. It wasn’t just about build quality: it was about pride, masculinity, and raw, untamed power. For thousands of riders, owning a Royal Enfield Bullet 350 wasn’t just about transport - it was about owning a legacy.

    Bajaj Pulsar

    “Definitely Male”

The launch of the first 2 Bajaj Pulsar bikes back in 2001: the 150 and 180 - was a radical leap forward for the Indian manufacturer. At a time when commuter bikes dominated the market, the Pulsar was raw, aggressive, and aimed squarely at the young urban man. But it was the tagline “Definitely Male” that delivered the knockout punch.

Conceptualized as part of a campaign that broke all norms, the phrase sparked conversations, controversy, and ultimately cult status - it didn’t just sell a bike, it sold attitude. The campaign fused power, aggression, and style, perfectly matching the Pulsar’s performance.

    Hero CD 100

“Fill It. Shut It. Forget It.”

In a market where mileage is king, Hero (then Hero-Honda) hit the jackpot with a tagline that spoke directly to the everyday commuter. “Fill It. Shut It. Forget It.” was more than a catchphrase, it was a promise fulfilled with unyielding consistency. Crafted during the early 2000s, this simple yet impactful line positioned the CD100 (and later the Hero Splendor bikes and many other commuters) as the most reliable and cost-effective option on the road.

It tapped into the frustrations of frequent refueling, a lot of exhaust smoke, and unknown reliability - especially with the 2-strokes bikes of the time, by offering a solution that was easy, efficient, and utterly dependable. Even today, the phrase remains etched in the minds of riders who value peace of mind, practicality and mileage over everything else.

    Kinetic Blaze

    “Catch Me If You Can”

In the mid-2000s, Kinetic Motors sought to redefine the scooter segment with something that had never been seen before: a 165cc scooter that looked and felt like a sportbike. To match the Blaze’s speed and design, the tagline “Catch Me If You Can” became the perfect taunt - it wasn’t just marketing, it was an open challenge.

The campaign targeted the youth, pushing the message that this wasn’t your average family scooter. With sporty looks and performance to boot, the Blaze invited riders to own the road with confidence and flair. Though the Blaze didn’t have a long market run, the tagline remains a standout moment in Indian advertising for two-wheelers.

    Bajaj Avenger

    “Feel Like God”

The Bajaj Avenger bike introduced Indian riders to a true-blue, and more importantly affordable cruiser. The bike’s tagline “Feel Like God” was crafted to evoke a sense of unmatched freedom and control. Launched in 2005, the Avenger was meant for long roads and longer silences.

It suggested an almost spiritual connection between rider and machine, and the tagline worked like magic. For riders craving escape, self-discovery, and the hum of the open road, the Avenger became more than a product, it was a personal journey.

    More Than Just Words

Each of these taglines helped build more than just the brand identity, they shaped emotional landscapes. Whether it was the bruteforce-torque of the Royal Enfield Bullet or the zen-like peace of mind offered by the Hero CD 100 - these slogans became genre-defining identities and cultural landmarks. In a world increasingly driven by specs and data, these timeless lines remind us that sometimes, it’s the soul not the speedometer - that truly moves a rider.

    • Royal Enfield Hunter 350
      Royal enfield the build machine
My first preference is short height bike because it's easy to handle it plus maintenance was so reliable. As per compare to the other with the same segment Hunter is far better then others. I really love to ride royal enfield bikes. For the city riding you love it like handling was very amazing plus throttle response is very amazing. For the lobby route you can adjust your seat or add some cusion over the seat or buy the new seat. For the city purpose you can buy this bike only. As I have a classic 350 and metor. l really like to ride hunter only because that machine is more powerfull as compared to other RE machine like the engine sound and silencer sound without changing any parts it shows the old version one.
