The Honda Activa range outsold the Suzuki Access 125, TVS Jupiter 110 and TVS Jupiter 125 combined!
Based on the SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) sales data we have received recently, here’s a list of top 5 best-selling scooters from the month of May 2025:

The Honda Activa range has been the best-selling scooter in the Indian market for quite a long time now. It includes two scooters: The Activa 110 and the Activa 125, and both come with a neutral design, refined engine and a decent list of practical features.
Honda sold a total of 1,90,713 units in the month of May 2025, a 2.09% decrease in its Month-On-Month (MoM) sales numbers when compared with those from April 2025. The Year-on-Year (YoY) sales, though, have dropped by 11.58% when compared with sales from May 2024. That said, the Activa still remains the best-seller, outselling most of the other scooters by a huge margin.

The TVS Jupiter range consists of two scooters: Jupiter 110 and the Jupiter 125. Both the scooters with their modern design, segment-first features and immense practicality have won the hearts of many scooter buyers. For context, the Jupiter (110 & 125) has one of the most spacious bootspaces with over 33-litres along with extra apron-mounted cubby holes for more storage.
TVS sold about 97,606 Jupiters in the month of May 2025, a slight drop in the MoM sales numbers by 4.85%. The YoY sales though, have shown a significant increase of 28.70% when compared to the sales numbers from the month of May 2024.

The Suzuki Access 125 has been the most popular 125cc scooter in India. Its retro styling, solid build quality, great practical features along with a peppy engine makes it an easy choice for those looking for a no-nonsense 125cc scooter.
Suzuki sold 75,778 units of the Access 125 in the month of May 2025, a 16.38% increase in the MoM sales numbers while the YoY sales followed the same direction with 16.91% increase when compared to May 2024. One of the reasons for the healthy growth in sales could be due to the launch of the new TFT console-equipped variant in May.

The Honda Dio was the first one to popularise the sporty-scooter segment in India. The range includes the Honda Dio 110 and the Dio 125. Both scooters offer decent performance, good build quality and a reliable engine making them popular among the youngsters.
For reference, Honda sold 26,220 units of the Dio range in May 2025, driving the MoM sales up by 27.56%, while the YoY sales have taken a hit of 9.71% when compared to May 2024. It’s high time Honda refreshes the scooter, possibly with new colour schemes and graphics to maintain its relevance.

No other scooter is as popular in the sporty 125cc segment as the TVS NTorq 125. It gets aggressive looks with matching colour schemes, punchy engine, good handling and lots of features, making it a favourite choice of young riders.
TVS sold 25,205 NTorq 125s in the month of May 2025, dipping the MoM sales up by just 0.70% when compared to April 2025. The YoY sales too, have dropped by 13.83% when compared to May 2024. As far as the decreasing sales numbers are concerned, we think it’s high time for TVS to update the NTorq 125 too. We’d appreciate a TFT screen as the Jupiter 125 already gets one.
