The Splendor Plus outsold all other bikes combined

Based on the sales data we received from Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), we have compiled a list of top 5 best selling Hero bikes from financial year 2024-25 (April 2024 to March 2025). Here’s how it turned out:

Hero Splendor Plus

This year too the Hero Splendor Plus has topped the list and retained its ‘Best-Seller’ tag outselling every other bike in the list, as well as the entire two-wheeler market. Hero sold 32,65,402 units of the Splendor Plus in the FY 2024-25, growing by 8.79% when compared with sales from the FY 2023-24 (April 2023 to March 2024).

The Splendor’s reliability along with multiple variants with different features and price points make it a very versatile commuter in the 100cc segment. It was also recently updated to comply with OBD-2B norms.

Hero HF Deluxe

The Hero HF Deluxe is fundamentally a Splendor, but in a different clothing and a more affordable price tag. Hero sold 9,71,119 units of the bike in FY 2024-25, a 6.09% decrease in sales from the previous financial year.

If Hero were to improve the sales of the HF Deluxe, it’s high time the bikemaker gave it a mild refresh, perhaps in the form of new colour schemes. Afterall, it is the most affordable bike from the brand, so it’s all the more important for Hero to ensure healthy sales numbers.

Hero Xtreme 125R

The Hero Xtreme 125R is the newest addition to Hero MotoCorp’s 125cc line-up. The Hero Xtreme 125R with its sporty and aggressive looks, combined with the good mileage and tractable engine was an instant hit and managed to secure the third spot on this list. Also, a single-piece seat variant of the bike was launched with the same price tag as that of the split-seat variant, making it more appealing to a diverse buyer range.

Hero sold 2,83,021 units of the Xtreme 125R in the financial year 2024-25, a massive 1724.29% increase in sales from the FY 2023-24. The incredible sales bump is because of the fact that  the Xtreme 125R was launched in January 2024, so the sales numbers for the financial year 2023-2024 were considered only for three months (from January 2024 to March 2024).

Hero Super Splendor

The Hero Super Splendor too, also has all the ‘Splendor’ nameplate characteristics like a fuel efficient engine, comfortable riding position, and modern features. That said, the sales figures have been dwindling. The Hero Super Splendor saw a 20.15% decrease in its sales figures when compared to previous financial year’s sales figures.

The Xtec model of Hero Super Splendor was updated with an OBD-2B compliant engine too but the bike definitely needs a bigger makeover to be relevant to the 125cc segment. Hero also has the Glamour, which itself takes some of the market share away in Hero’s 125cc commuter bike segment. Additionally, the sporty 125cc bike segment is also gaining ground, which could have been a contributing factor for the reducing relevance of the Super Splendor. 

Hero Passion Plus

The Hero Passion Plus is quite a well-known name in the Indian two-wheeler market, and was relaunched in India in June 2023. The bike’s sales have been on a decline for quite some time and Hero only sold 2,15,182 units in the FY 2024-25. That’s a 39.60% decrease in sales figures when compared to its sales in the previous fiscal year.

The Hero Passion Plus shares its engine with the HF Deluxe and the Hero Splendor Plus, carrying the same characteristics like ease of riding, good mileage and fuss-free maintenance. However, its pricing is too close to the Splendor, which explains why folks prefer the Splendor over the Passion as the former has a much wider reputation of being a well-known motorcycle than the latter.
