The Simple Wave was recently launched in India. The family-focused scooter offers a host of convenience features for everyday use and is quite practical as well. Similarly, the TVS iQube 2.3 kWh is the entry-level scooter in the TVS iQube lineup.
Here is how these new electric scooters compare against each other:
Design
Both the e-scooters from the brands are positioned as family scooters. The Simple Wave gets overall a curvy design, making it look much more premium. On the other hand, the TVS iQubeS 2.2 kWh takes an even more traditional approach in terms of design. The base variant of the scooter comes in 3 colour options: Pearl White, Walnut Brown, and Titanium Grey.
Performance and Range
The base Simple Wave S has a 2.2 kWh battery and gets a 4.5 kW motor. It has a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 110 km and a top speed of 70 kmph. It gets a 750 W portable charger.
The scooter gets three riding modes: Eco X, Eco and Ride, which alter the power delivery and throttle response depending on the selected mode.
The base variant of the iQube gets a slightly bigger 2.3 kWh battery pack, which is paired to a 3.68 kW motor. It has an IDC range of 114 km, which is 4 km more than the Simple Wave. Also, the TVS iQube gets a claimed top speed of 68 kmph. It charges from 0-80 percent within 2 hours and 50 minutes using a standard charger.
The scooter gets 2 riding modes: Eco and Power Mode, which affect the performance and range of the e-scooter.
Underpinnings
The Simple Wave rolls on 12-inch wheels at both ends. The electric scooter gets a telescopic fork, and the rear gets preload-adjustable dual shock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by a 220 mm disc at the front and a drum brake at the rear, with a combined braking system (CBS).
On the other hand, the TVS iQube rolls on the same wheel setup as the Simple Wave. It gets a telescopic fork and dual-shock absorbers at the rear. The braking duties are taken care of by 130 mm drum brakes at both ends. The scooter is also equipped with CBS as standard for added safety.
Features
The Simple Wave features a 5-inch LCD console, which shows the speedometer, tachometer and odometer. It also comes with connectivity features such as Bluetooth, call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.
On the other hand, the TVS iQube outshines the Wave by offering a host of features, which include Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. Safety features include geofencing and anti theft alert to keep your scooter safe and secure. It also gets a USB charging port to charge your phone on the go. Furthermore it gets a crash and fall alert system, which will alert emergency contact in case of a mishap.
Storage & Convenience
The Simple Wave offers a massive 70-litre storage – claimed to be the largest of any scooter. It also gets side storage pods that the brand calls ‘pill storage’ to store small things on the go.
Additionally, the scooter gets a long seat of 920 mm, making it comfortable for two fully brown adults
On the other hand, the iQube gets only 30-litres of total storage – adequate for everyday use. Additionally, the pillion gets a backrest for added convenience and support.

Between the two scooters, the Wave offers more practicality with its massive storage, and slightly higher top speed. The iQube, on the other hand, offers a slightly higher range and comparatively more conventional looks. It also has more features.
The choice between the two scooters eventually comes down to what you prefer more. That said, at Rs 15,565, the price difference between the two scooters is quite significant.
