They might look the same but there are a lot of changes to tell the two motorcycles apart

[Update: Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, Svartpilen 250 Launched In India]

Husqvarna has unveiled the Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 in India. The new motorcycles will be launched in the country early next year (launch details here). Both motorcycles share its 250cc powertrain and underpinnings with the KTM 250 Duke. While the Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 might look similar at first glance, they cater to different genres and have a lot of differences between them. Here are the more important ones.

Different genres:

The Vitpilen 250 is a cafe racer, which means it’s meant for having fun on twisty roads thanks to its sporty riding position. On the other hand, the Svartpilen 250 is a scrambler that should allow you to indulge in some mild off-roading thanks to its upright riding position and dual-purpose tyres.

Different design:

Both motorcycles feature the same bodywork but different paint schemes. The Vitpilen 250 gets a white fuel tank with a grey tail section and silver accents. The Svartpilen 250 gets a contrasting grey fuel tank with white accents and a silver tail section.

Different cycle parts:

Being a scrambler, the Svartpilen 250 has a flatter seat for you to move around while riding off-road. The Svartpilen 250 also gets a tank rack with cutouts to allow you to strap on your tank bag. It also has a single-piece, raised handlebar. On the VItpilen 250, you get sportier and low-set clip-on handlebars.

Different wheels:

The road-focussed Vitpilen 250 gets MRF Revz FC 1 tyres while the Svartpilen 250 scrambler gets dual-purpose MRF Revz FD tyres.
