Update - Honda CB300R Launched In India

The CB300R will be the most affordable CKD offering from Honda in India

Dealers have begun accepting bookings for the bike for Rs 5,000. It will be sold exclusively through Honda Wing World dealerships. It is expected to be priced between Rs 2.3 lakh to Rs 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

Honda 2Wheelers India is set to introduce the new CB300R in the country tomorrow. The neo-retro motorcycle will be sold only via Honda Wing World dealerships and bookings have already commenced for a token amount of Rs 5,000. The Honda CB300R, which will be brought here via the CKD route, is likely to be priced between Rs 2.3 lakh to Rs 2.4 lakh (ex-showroom). Its primary rivals include the KTM 390 Duke, BMW G 310 R. However, it will also go up against the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 as far as pricing is concerned.

The Honda CB300R follows the Japanese two-wheeler giant’s new ‘Neo Sports Café’ design language for modern street bikes and looks like a scaled-down version of the CB1000R. It gets a neo-modern styling with a hint of cafe racer and we must say the CB300R is quite visually appealing. The bike gets a host of features, including LED lighting at the front and rear, a fully-digital instrument console and also an IMU-based ABS system.

Nestled within the tubular steel frame is a 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that pumps out 30.9PS of power at 5500rpm and 27Nm of torque at 7500rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox and Honda claims a mileage of 30.2kmpl. Suspension hardware consists of 41mm USD forks and a preload adjustable monoshock, while braking is done via disc brakes on both ends. While we aren’t sure about the degree of localisation to keep costs in check, we do know that the India-spec bike will get Michelin tyres as opposed to the Dunlop rubber seen on the international-spec model. We will be reporting live from the launch event, so make sure you follow BikeDekho.com for the latest updates on the CB300R.
