Hero XPulse 210 vs Yamaha Lander 250: Image Comparison
The dual-sport, off-road category is heating up in India!
Hero MotoCorp recently launched the much awaited and highly anticipated XPulse 210 at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The XPulse has been priced at Rs 1,75,800 (ex-showroom). Yamaha Motor India also showcased their Lander 250 at the expo, hinting that it could be launched here soon. We compare both these off-road oriented dual-sport bikes in detail against each other:
Engine
The Hero XPulse 210 is powered by a 210cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, shared with the Hero Karizma XMR 210, and it produces 24.6PS and 20.7Nm. This makes it more powerful than the Yamaha Lander 250, which gets a 249.5cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with 20.7PS and 20.49Nm. This is the same motor found in the now discontinued Yamaha FZ 25. While the XPulse has an edge in performance, the Lander’s air-cooled setup is simpler and easier to maintain, making it a solid option for rugged use.
Underpinnings
Both bikes are equipped with long-travel suspension designed for off-road riding. The XPulse 210 features a telescopic fork with 210mm travel and a monoshock with 205mm travel. Meanwhile, the Lander offers a slightly higher ground clearance at 275mm compared to the XPulse’s 220mm, giving it better ability to handle uneven trails. Both bikes come with a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear spoked wheel setup. With a kerb weight of 170kg, the XPulse 210 is heavier than the Yamaha Lander 250, which has a kerb weight of just 143kg. The Lander’s lighter weight should make it easier to handle on trails and more forgiving during off-roading.
Features
The XPulse gets more features like a 4.3-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts. It also gets switchable on/off ABS at the rear, meant for off-road usage. On the other hand, the Yamaha Lander 250 comes with a simple LCD console displaying basic information like speed, fuel level, and a trip meter.
Design
The XPulse has a rally-inspired design with a sharp beak-like front fender, a muscular tank, and bold colours that make it stand out visually. In comparison, the Lander has a simpler dual-sport design with understated styling. It also borrows its headlight from the previous generation Yamaha FZ 25.

If your priority is off-road riding, the Yamaha Lander 250, on paper, offers an advantage with its higher ground clearance, lighter weight, and simplicity; specially for beginners and also riders who want a nimble bike for trail use. However, if you are looking for a dual purpose bike with better performance, more features, highway and long distance touring capability, the Hero XPulse 210 is the better choice. It offers a well rounded package for both on- and off-road adventures.
