Hero Lectro Launches H3 And H5 E-cycles To Make Daily Commutes More Fun

The new launches seem convincing enough to consider adopting e-cycles

More and more companies are incentivising their employees to adopt cycling to work, the benefits of which range from improving your personal health and also that of the environment. Hero Lectro has launched two new e-cycles - H3 and H5 - at two very accessible price points of Rs 27,499 and Rs 28,499, respectively, to help motivate first time users even more.

Cycles are no longer as affordable as they once were. A decent pedal-power only cycle will cost you somewhere north of Rs 20,000 easily. Furthermore, India’s extreme weather and long commuting distances can really put one off from the idea of cycling to work. But e-cycles like the H3 and H5 are here to help make that environmentally conscious decision more easy. 

Both the H3 and H5 are powered by a 250W BLDC hub motor and can achieve a claimed top speed of 25kmph. The motor is powered by a IP67 rated Li-ion 5.8Ah (intube) battery pack promising a range of 30km on full charge with pedal-assist and 25km on pure throttle alone. It claims a charging time of four hours for a full top-up.

Both e-cycles get Hero Cycles’ proprietary GEMTEC technology. The H3 is a hybrid-style cycle and the H5 is a mountain bike crossover with front suspension; and both e-cycles are available in two colours each. With a sub-Rs 30,000 price point, enough range and decent top speed to handle the urban jungle, the proposition is genuinely very enticing.
