All New Bajaj Pulsar 150 New Vs Old: Differences Explained

The new-gen bike is the biggest update to the OG Pulsar yet. Here’s how it differs from the older-generation bike.

Bajaj has launched the all-new Pulsar 150 in India at a starting price of Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), giving the iconic bike a much-needed upgrade. Here’s how it differs from the older-gen bike.

What's New?

  • The bike gets a comprehensive overhaul to its design, with a new LED headlamp, LED DRLs, sharper tank extensions, and a redesigned taillight, giving the bike a fresher and more aggressive look.

  • It gets an all-new 150cc air-and-oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It makes 14 PS and 14.2 Nm (0.85 Nm more than the older bike), paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

  • The biggest change is the new chassis, along with a monoshock suspension that replaces the older dual-cradle frame and dual-shock absorbers.

  • The new bike is equipped with either a 5-inch colour LCD screen or a 5-inch TFT console, depending on the model. Compared to the negative LCD console on the older bike, the new console looks much more modern and premium.

  • The new-gen bike gets Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts as standard. The top TFT variants also get full Google Maps mirroring, document storage and music controls.

  • The bike gets 3 riding modes: Road, Rain and Sport. In terms of safety features, it gets single-channel ABS and a hazard light switch as standard.

What's Unchanged?

  • The braking setup remains unchanged between the generations, with a 260mm disc brake up front and a 130mm drum at the rear for the base variant, while the dual-disc variants get a 240mm disc at the rear.

  • The bike rides on 17-inch wheels as standard, with an 80-section tyre at the front and a 100-section tyre at the rear.

User Reviews

reliable daily commuter with great mileage

Needed something dependable for daily city traffic that wouldn't eat up all petrol money. looked at a few other 150cc options but the pulsar 150 just felt like the right balance of price, low maintenance and that classic muscular look that never gets old. Honestly pretty smooth for daily running, engine has nice pickup in lower gears so overtaking in heavy trafffic is easy, getting a solid 45-50 km regularly, only slight downside is minor handle vibes past 85 kmph but for everyday city speeds, its steady and comfortable. Definitely 100 percent recommend it, if you want a reliable everyday bike with decent power and great fuel efficiency, maintenance is super cheap and spare parts are available anywhere. just a solid, no nonsense daily runner that gets the job done.
