Yamaha Fascino & RayZR Recalled Over Brake Concern

Over 3 lakh scooters affected; dealerships to handle fixes at no cost

Quick News Highlights:

  • Front brake calliper issue has been observed in multiple units

  • Scooters manufactured between May 2, 2024 and September 3, 2025, may be affected

Yamaha India has announced a voluntary recall for its 125cc Hybrid scooter line-up, covering the RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid. The campaign comes into effect immediately and impacts 3,06,635 units manufactured between May 2, 2024, and September 3, 2025.

The issue stems from a potential front brake calliper malfunction observed in a limited number of scooters. Yamaha says that under specific riding conditions, the front calliper may not perform properly, and may affect braking performance and rider safety. While Yamaha clarifies that the concern is limited to select units, brake-related issues are taken seriously, prompting this proactive step.

To resolve the matter, Yamaha dealerships will inspect and replace the affected component free of charge for all eligible scooters. Owners can check whether their scooter is part of the recall by heading to the Service section on the India Yamaha Motor website, navigating to ‘Maintenance’, selecting ‘Voluntary Recall Campaign’, and entering the scooter’s chassis number under the ‘Scooter 125’ category.

Alternatively, searching for ‘Voluntary Recall Campaign Yamaha’ online will lead customers directly to the eligibility checker. Yamaha has assured full dealer support for a smooth and timely rollout of the campaign.
