Royal Enfield Bullet 650 vs Classic 650: What Are The Differences?

Royal Enfield has finally completed its 650cc lineup with the unveiling of the Bullet 650. Since this bike is based on the Classic 650, there are several similarities, so at first glance, some might feel they’re both similar. However, there are quite a few important differences. While they share all their major mechanical components, their design philosophies cater to different tastes. The Bullet 650 goes for premium styling with the 3D logos on the tank and the side panels, whereas the Classic 650 keeps things simple with the painted logos.
The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 also gets slightly taller handlebars, for a more commanding riding posture. The Classic 650, on the other hand, has a lower handlebar. Even though it is relatively lower, the riding posture is still upright and comfortable.
The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 also gets a long contoured single-piece seat, whereas the Classic comes with a split seat setup. The Classic is a bit more versatile in this regard, as riders can remove the pillion seat and turn the bike into a proper heritage-style single-seater.
At the rear, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 comes with a curved rear fender, whereas the Bullet gets a boxier-looking rear fender, just like the one in the Bullet 350. Lastly, the bikes are offered in different sets of colours. The Bullet 650 comes in two colour schemes: Cannon Black and Battleship Blue. The Classic 650, on the other hand, is offered in 4 colours: Black Chrome, Teal, Bruntingthorpe Blue, and Vallam Red.
Aside from these changes, the bikes share the same mechanical components. Both are powered by the same 648-cc, air and oil-cooled motor that produces 47PS and 52.3Nm. The Royal Enfield Classic 650 starts at a price of Rs 3,61,243 (ex-showroom, Chennai). The Bullet 650 is expected to be launched by early 2026, with an expected price of around Rs 3.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
