Bajaj Auto recently launched the all-new Pulsar 150 in India, and in the segment, it goes up against the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V. Both bikes offer strong performance, sporty styling and a long features list. Here is a detailed price comparison between these two bikes:

Bajaj Pulsar 150
The all-new Bajaj Pulsar 150 gets a sportier and more aggressive design. There is a sharp looking fascia with a new LED headlight, and also the tail-section is completely new. The bike gets a telescopic fork setup at the front, a muscular fuel tank and an aggressive looking tank extensions.All of this gives the bike a sharp,yet modern look.
It is powered by an all-new 150cc engine which is air-oil-cooled, and produces 14 PS, 14.1 Nm. On-paper the Pulsar makes less power than the Apache RTR 160 2V. The Pulsar also gets three riding modes: Road, Rain and Sport, which you can select according to the riding conditions.
The main highlight is the long features-list of the Pulsar 150. The top-spec variant gets a 5-inch TFT console, which was first featured on the recently launched Bajaj Pulsar N160 SS, and along with all the basic connectivity features, it also gets Google Maps mirroring. Whereas the base models get an LCD console with turn-by-turn navigation.
TVS Apache RTR 160
The TVS Apache RTR 160 2V also gets a sporty design and a well sculpted fuel tank design with bold extensions. All of which gives the bike a sporty look without being too loud. It also gets an LED headlamp and DRLs, which go well with the overall design of this sporty commuter motorcycle.
The RTR 160 2V is powered by a 159.7cc air-cooled engine that produces 16.04 PS and 13.85 Nm, which is 2.04 PS more and 0.25 Nm less than the new Pulsar 150. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
The bike also comes with dual-channel ABS on the top variant, while the pricing for the base variant starts at Rs 1,13,140 ( ex-showroom,Delhi) – that is Rs 2,092 less than the base Pulsar 150.

Both of these bikes look equally sporty, however now the design of the Apache has started to show its age, and the new Pulsar definitely looks more modern. That said, both bikes should still provide good performance for daily usage, and occasional highway runs. On-paper the Apache makes slightly more power, but the new Pulsar 150 with its all-new engine, oil-cooling and lighter weight should feel equally peppy to ride. Also the Pulsar is a more feature-loaded option here, so if you are a tech-junky the Pulsar could be the one for you.
