Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6, Avenger Street 220 BS6 Prices Revealed

The price hike for the BS6 models ranges between Rs 7,501 and Rs 11,584

All three motorcycles get a fuel-injected motor now.  All could get some form of cosmetic updates.  The BS6 motorcycle could be launched later this month. 

Bajaj is set to launch the BS6 versions of its Avenger range and we have prices for all three of them. The smaller Avenger Street 160 BS6 costs Rs 89,536, a hike of Rs 7,501 over the BS4 model. Its larger cousins, the Avenger Street 220 BS6 and Avenger Cruise 220 BS6 both retail for Rs 1,15,456, a hike of Rs 11,584 over its BS4 predecessors. The new motorcycles are expected to reach dealerships this month with an official launch most likely happening next week. 

The substantial hike in price could be due to the switch from a carburetted setup to fuel injection. We expect the BS6 versions of these motorcycles to make slightly more power than the BS4 variants. For reference, the BS4 Avenger Street 160’s oil-cooled motor delivers 15PS and 13.5Nm. Both the BS4 Avenger 220’s share the same 220cc air and oil-cooled powerplant which puts out 19.03PS and 17.5Nm of torque. 

Other than the powertrain updates, Bajaj could offer some form of cosmetic upgrades to the Avenger range. The Avenger Street 160 competes with the Suzuki Intruder. The larger Avenger 220 twins are the only cruisers in their segments and as such face no direct competition. Along with the Avengers, Bajaj is set to launch the Pulsar 220 BS6 as well.
