Updated Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, Svartpilen 401 Reach Dealerships Ahead Of Launch

The updated versions of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 250 have started reaching dealerships, suggesting that the launch is just around the corner, likely in August 2025. Both the bikes now get meaningful updates that were due for a long time. The Svartpilen 401 now gets alloy wheels while the Vitpilen 250 comes with a new TFT instrument console.

The Svartpilen 401 being a road-biased scrambler, had one major pain point – the tubed spoke wheels. While the mild offroading experience they offered was pleasant enough, they definitely lacked the convenience of the tubeless tyres and were prone to punctures. Husqvarna has rectified the issue by offering the alloy wheels on the Svartpilen 401 - same wheels borrowed from the Vitpilen. Our dealer sources also say that both spoke and alloy wheel options will be available for the Svartpilen. It continues to have Apollo Trampler XR block pattern tyres - known for their good trail capability.

On the other hand, the Vitpilen 250 now gets a rectangular TFT display replacing the LCD console. That said, it doesn’t seem to have smartphone connectivity. As per our dealer sources, the Vitpilen might get a hike of around Rs 12,000 on its price of Rs 2,23,928 (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the Svartpilen 401 might be priced slightly less or the same at Rs 2,97,112 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Husqvarna has always been known for its minimalistic yet stylish motorcycles. The Vitpilen 250 got a little more premium with the update whereas the Svartpilen got a lot more practical, while retaining the classy look, and KTM Duke 390-levels of performance. The lack of alloys was one of the biggest complaints of the Svartpilen 401 at launch, and we’re glad that the update solves this. 

There are no natural rivals for the Vitpilen 250, whereas the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is an ideal alternative to the Svartpilen 401, if you’re looking for a performance-packed sub-500cc roadster.
