TVS Silently Updates Apache RR 310 For More Refinement

According to TVS dealers, the new updates are applicable for previous lots of the RR310 as well and can be availed for free

The TVS Apache RR 310 has impressed us on many counts, but disappointed on one. The vibrations have been a major cause of concern, especially in the batches of bikes delivered before the current one. TVS has been working behind the scenes, often updating bikes with optimised components in a bid to reduce vibrations and make the Apache RR 310 more refined. As part of a similar silent initiative, TVS has asked existing Apache RR 310 owners to get their bikes to dealerships for an update.

A little digging revealed that TVS is updating four components on the Apache RR 310. The first and most important being the ECU. As part of the update, the ECU is being re-flashed for a map that allows the motor to rev smoothly through the rev range. This should not only improve the refinement levels but also overall fuel efficiency.

Next up is the windscreen. It gets piping around the edges to reduce the buzzing sound from where the windscreen touches the fairing. Then there are the bar-end weights that are larger and slightly heavier than before and should curb some vibrations from the handlebars. Lastly, you have a new chain roller that is made of a softer material and should help in cutting down chain noise.

All models of the Apache RR 310 are eligible for this update which can be availed at TVS dealerships free of cost. According to TVS, the process can take around 3 hours. Those not wanting to avail of this update immediately can get it done during their next service.

With these new updates, the Apache RR 310, at Rs 2.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), should be a good value for money proposition. If you’re looking for a 300cc bike that is reasonably powerful, dynamically competent and comfortable enough whether you are riding in the city or touring across the country, it is certainly worth considering.
