The Hosur-based manufacturer today announced that its 160cc motorcycle, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, has crossed the 1 lakh sales mark within six months since its launch.
The RTR 160 4V has been designed and engineered from TVS Racing’s learnings on the racetrack. It gets a 159.7 cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 16.8PS at 8000rpm and 14.8 Nm @ 6500 rpm (fuel-injected variant), while the carburetted variant produces 16.5PS at 8000 rpm and 14.8Nm at 6500rpm.
The Apache RTR 160 4V features “segment-first ram air cooling” which reduces heat from the engine by around 10 degrees. This along with oil-cooling enables the bike to achieve a top speed of 114kmph on the Fi and 113kmph on the carb variant. Additionally, the bike can sprint from 0-60 in 4.8secs (EFI) and 4.73 seconds on the carb variant.
Its fully digital speedometer is backlit in white and packs a ton of features like a lap timer, 0-60 timer and a top speed recorder, amongst others. The Apache RTR 160 4V series is offered in three colours: red, blue and black.

Launched in March 2018, the motorcycle has achieved the milestone in a span of six months.
The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is a testimony to TVS Racing’s rich 36-year legacy in motorsports. It is born of the six-time Indian National Motorcycle Road Racing Championship (INMRC) winning motorcycle – (Group B RTR 165) and comes with a 4-valve, oil-cooled engine that offers best-in-class performance.

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is available in both Carburetor and EFI variants, with the latter christened as TVS Apache RTR 160 Fi 4V. The motorcycle gets a 159.7 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine that churns out 16.8 PS @8000 rpm (EFI) and 14.8 Nm @ 6500 rpm (EFI), 16.5 PS @8000 rpm (Carb) and 14.8 Nm @ 6500 rpm (Carb). The engine is mated to a 5-speed super-slick gear box that offers a precise and powerful riding experience.
Staying true to its racing pedigree, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has the most powerful oil cooled 160cc engine, enabling the best performance in its class and boasts of a top speed of 114 kmph (EFI), 113 kmph (Carb). Complete with best-in-class power-to-weight ratio, the motorcycle does an astounding 0-60 kmph in 4.8 seconds (EFI) and 4.73 seconds (Carb).
With a fully-digital speedometer, the design of the new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V offers sleek styling along with the race-spec aspects of the INMRC race machine – RTR 165. The motorcycle boasts of a compact race design with chequered flag decals on the tank, a fitting homage to its winning streak on the race track.
TVS Apache RTR 160 4V series is available in three stunning colours, namely, Racing Red, Metallic Blue and Knight Black.

- Great Performance and Handling but City Mileage CoI chose the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD model mainly for its sporty design, features and strong road presence. The bike feels very stable on highways and comfortable for daily city rides. Handling is sharp and confidence inspiring. It is also good for family usage when riding normally. Overall the build quality, braking and features like TFT display make the bike feel premium in this segment. Ride quality so far has been very good. The Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD has excellent handling and stability. In highways the bike feels planted and smooth even at higher speeds. Braking performance and suspension are also good for most road conditions. But the biggest downside for me is the city mileage. In city I am getting around 28 to 32 kmpl, which is lower than expected for a 160cc bike. If someone wants good performance, sporty design, great handling and modern features, the Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD is a very good choice. However mileage is the only reason I hesitate to recommend it to everyone. Competitors like Pulsar N160 give better mileage in city conditions. So if mileage is your main priority you may consider other options, but apart from that the bike is really enjoyable to ride.Read More3

- Apache RTR reviewAccording to online review it's the best bike in the segment. I reviewed other bikes in the segment and everybody has their pros and cons but this is the overall best friend and it has been running on the roads were years that's why. Very punchy and comfortable. It's very manuvareble in traffic and the blood through technology is very helpful in the driving also when it comes to I wait as a very good performance. Mileage is pretty good. Yes to anyone in this segment.
