SIAM (Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) has released the sales data, and the number of scooters sold in India is just mind-boggling. The sales of the top two best-selling scooters run in double-digit lakhs! Here are the top 5 best-sellers of 2025:

The Activa range includes the Honda Activa 110 and the Honda Activa 125. With decent mileage, good practicality and reliable engines, these scooters have ruled over the Indian scooter market for years, that too consistently.
That said, the overall sales seem to have plateau-ed out this year as Honda sold 24,07,888 Activas, which is just a 0.36% increase in its Year-On-Year (YoY) sales numbers. However, you simply cannot deny the fact that this is still almost twice its closest rival.

The TVS Jupiter range is one of the most feature-packed scooters currently on sale in India. It includes the TVS Jupiter 110 and the TVS Jupiter 125. This year, the brand sold 12,78,504 units of these scooters, which is a healthy 38.84% increase in YoY sales numbers. Even though the Jupiter range has a fantastic list of features, excellent practicality, decent performance and mileage, it is still far behind the Activa. However, the healthy year-on-year increase is a great indicator that the Jupiter is catching up fast.

The Suzuki Access 125 often considered as the default choice as far as 125cc scooters are concerned. It is well-built, has great practicality, and is fun to ride with its punchy 125cc motor. Suzuki sold 7,11,449 units of the Access this year, amounting to a 6.74% growth in YoY sales numbers. Even though the brand updated the Access with a TFT screen in May this year, the YoY performance isn’t as one would expect. Perhaps, it’s time for Suzuki to give the scooter another proper facelift.

The TVS Ntorq 125 is a no-brainer purchase if you want a sporty 125cc scooter. It has all the characteristics of a good, feature-packed and fun-to-ride scooter. That said, its market dominance has become weaker as it sold 3,02,311 units, an 8.35% decline in its YoY sales, compared to 2024. TVS might want to consider giving the Ntorq a fresh update with new features and perhaps revised design and colour schemes too.

The only maxi-styled scooter range on the list – the Suzuki Burgman range is basically an Access 125, but with European styling. It is based on the same platform as the Access 125, and even gets the same engine.
This year, Suzuki sold 2,58,154 Burgmans (Suzuki Burgman Street and Suzuki Burgman Street EX), which is a 32.40% increase in its YoY sales numbers. Despite the decent sales, we feel the scooter has become a bit dated and could definitely do with a refresh.
