According to the recent SIAM (Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) sales data, we spotted some very interesting observations in scooter sales in the Indian market for the month of September 2025. We compiled a list of the top 5 best-selling scooters in India, and here it is:

The Honda Activa range consists of the Honda Activa 110 and the Honda Activa 125. Both of these scooters are quite popular due to their reliability, neutral design, adequate performance and decent mileage. In the last month, Honda sold 2,37,716 Activas, which is a decrease in its Month-on-Month (MoM) sales numbers by 2.68%. While the scooter still outsells most of its competition, the Year-On-Year (YoY) sales also show a decrease of 9.37%, which might hint at the fact that the buyers are moving on to more feature-packed alternatives.

The Jupiter range consists of two scooters: The TVS Jupiter 110 and the TVS Jupiter 125. The Jupiter 110 is currently one of the most feature-loaded 110cc scooters on sale in India right now. From the above sales figures, it is clear that the Jupiter range shows a negligible 0.20% decrease in MoM sales; the YoY sales have increased by 38.06%. We also expect the sales to go up in October with the reduced prices due to GST 2.0 as well as the festive Diwali rush.

The Suzuki Access 125 is one of the best-selling 125cc scooters in India. It has a good fit and finish, peppy performance and is reliable as well. With these qualities, it is one of the most loved scooters in its segment and sells in decent numbers.
The Access 125’s MoM sales numbers saw an 18.79% increase this September, while the YoY sales also increased by 34.48%, which is quite healthy. Also, with the recent price cuts due to GST 2.0, we expect the sales to go up by a good margin this Diwali.

The TVS Ntorq 125 is a performance-oriented scooter in India. With its youthful design, sporty looks, and peppy performance, it is an easy choice for the enthusiasts.
TVS sold 33,246 Ntorq 125s in September 2025, driving the MoM sales up by 9.52%. While this may indicate that it is still popular, the YoY sales show a different picture, with a 13.56% decrease. We think that this decrease in sales might be the migration of 125cc buyers to the 150/160cc segment, where they get better performance with just a small bump in price.

The Burgman Street Range consists of the Suzuki Burgman Street and the Suzuki Burgman Street EX. The unique scooter is essentially an Access 125 underneath but in a different styling. It is the most popular maxi-styled scooter in the country and has developed a loyal customer base. The brand saw an increase of 16.79% in the MoM, while the YoY sales skyrocketed with an increase of 90.80%.
Suzuki India has also announced that it will pass on the GST 2.0 benefits on all of its scooters to the customers, as they fall under the 350cc category, so expect the sales of these scooters to go up in the following months.
