Can Honda hold onto its position in the face of the growing competition?
Can Honda hold onto its position in the face of the growing competition?

The sales numbers for Indian scooters for the month of April 2021 is in, and it's no surprise yet again that the Activa still stands strong at the top of the table. But what about the rest of the contenders?

Not really. Honda still sits comfortably at the top of the food chain, selling 1,09,678 units of the Activa in April ‘21 alone, however, these numbers are combined figures of both the Activa 6G and Activa 125.

The Access 125, which snatched second spot from the TVS Jupiter, only accounts for about half of that number. Nonetheless, it was the best selling 125cc scooter last month.

TVS’ Jupiter slips down to third, selling only 25,570 units last month. While the NTorq sold fewer numbers compared to March, it managed to clinch fourth position, which was earlier occupied by Hero’s Pleasure Plus.
TVS' Jupiter had been at number two for a while now after overtaking the Access 125 in terms of volume. However, the Access clawed its way to second position this month. The achievement could be attributed to offers rolled out by Suzuki and the recent update which offers a smartphone-enabled instrument console.

Finally, dwindling sales have pushed the Honda Dio out of the top five contenders. It in fact managed to roped in just 4,600 units last month. In comparison, Hero sold 18,298 units of the Pleasure Plus. Would the dynamics change in the month of May? Let’s wait it out and see.

Looks like classic and design is too good. comfort is excellent, overall nice experience. Universally trusted, relaxed and stable city ride. With its smooth linear acceleration (ideal between 40-70 km/h), effortless automatic CVT transmission and comfortable upright seating. It dominates Indian roads. HERO PLEASURE PLUS REVIEW (PERSONAL EXPERIENCE)The New Hero Pleasure Plus is a very improved version from the previous generation and perfectly engineered for Indian roads also the engine used in this scooty is totally new and refined not like activa but yeah it is refined and nice the pickup is also very good and if we talk about suspension so personally I don't like the suspension coz it's on much stiffer side you can feel road bumps on the handlebars but yes there's no vibration in body like the jupiter coz pleasures plus engine is refined and also if we talk about the styling so it is on the funkier side and If we talk about mileage so it is around approx 40-50 kmpl what I had Calculated it can differ from person to personRead More
