Suzuki Motorcycle India is going to start the Gixxer Day Tour on 15 April i.e. tomorrow, from the Ramjas College grounds in Delhi. The event will also witness the launch of the Suzuki Gixxer's rear disc brake variant, which was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo. Besides the new launch, the company has roped in Redbull's freestyle motorcycle stunt rider Aras Gibieza to perform for the duration of the entire tour across the country.

Winner of the 2014 Stunt Riding EuroCup, Aras is one of the finest athletes in freestyle motorcycling. Speaking about visiting the country again, Gibieza said, “I’m elated to be coming back to India as I’ve always received a very warm and enthusiastic welcome. It was amazing to see a celebration of the biking brotherhood that brought people together when I was here the last time around at the India Bike Week 2015. I am looking forward to visiting some new cities this time as well as performing some new stunts for the audiences here.”

Coming back to the launch of the Suzuki Gixxer rear disc brake variant, there is no other mechanical or cosmetic change in the motorcycle. The rear disc brake option will be offered in both the dual-tone and mono-tone paint schemes, and the option will cost around Rs. 3,000 extra over the price of the standard trim. Currently, the standard trim costs Rs. 85,097 with single-tone paint, and Rs. 86,192 with the dual-tone.

The Suzuki Gixxer comes powered by a 155cc air-cooled engine that is blessed with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology for optimum performance and fuel efficiency. The motor makes 14.6bhp using a carburettor-type fuel system and delivers torque up to 14Nm. The aggressive styling of the naked sport bike features a well-sculpted masculine fuel tank, contoured seat with raised tail and a low-set headlight for the ‘predator’ look.

Other key features of the Suzuki Gixxer are a fully digital console, flatter type handlebar, 3-split-spoke alloy wheels, sporty twin-port exhaust muffler, 41mm fat front forks and meaty 140/60 section rear tyre. The company also offers a full-faired version of the bike, the Gixxer SF, which gets an aerodynamic front fairing along with all these features. So, it might also get the new feature that is going to be added in the streetfighter.

Besides this new trim, we are also waiting for the fuel-injected variant of the Suzuki Gixxer SF that was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. With these new trims, Suzuki could give a better competition to the fuel-injected FZ series and the Fazer.
