Suzuki Burgman Street BS6: Same Price, Other Options

What else can you get for the price of India’s first proper ‘maxi-scooter’?

What else can you get for the price of India’s first proper ‘maxi-scooter’?

Leaving aside the Kinetic Blaze, Suzuki was the trailblazer as far as maxi-scooters in India are concerned. It emerged as the pioneer with its 125cc Burgman Street, which has recently been updated to comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The update has brought with it fuel-injection, but also a price hike of nearly Rs 7,000, meaning the Burgman now costs Rs 77,900. So, if maxi-scooters aren’t really to your liking, what else can you get for similar money?

Honda Activa 125 BS6

If you’re looking for a more conventional scooter, the Honda Activa 125 BS6 fits that role perfectly. It’s not big on performance, but its practicality and refinement are class-leading. It’s also quite feature-rich, coming with an LED headlight, ACG starter, stop-start system, semi-digital instrumentation, and an external fuel-filler cap. All this goodness will cost you Rs 74,490, making it more affordable than the Burgman.

Honda SP 125

If scooters just aren’t your thing, how about a BS6-compliant motorcycle in the same displacement and price range? Honda’s first BS6 motorcycle, the SP 125, could be just the thing for you. Ultra smooth and refined, peppy for its class and feature-rich, this bike will keep you comfortable and happy on your daily commute. And the cost of all this? Rs 77,100.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon

Looking for a little more punch from your potential motorcycle? Bajaj is giving you even more cubes at the same price, with its Pulsar 150 Neon edition. The 149.5cc powerhouse churns out 14PS and 13.4Nm, comfortably making it the quickest vehicle on this list. So, if you’re a thrill seeker on a budget, look no further. At Rs 75,200, it’s also a bit more affordable than the Burgman.

Gemopai Astrid Lite

This Indo-Chinese creation is a tree-hugging zero emissions electric scooter, which should help you sleep a bit easier at night, knowing you’re doing your bit to curb global warming. It doesn’t have much in terms of performance. Or features. Or comfort. But if all you want is a green means of getting to work and back, put down your Rs 79,999 for the Astrid.

TVS NTorq Race Edition BS6

Why pick between eco-friendliness and performance when you could have a bit of both? The sporty TVS NTorq Race Edition was recently updated to comply with BS6 norms, meaning a grunty engine that’s also kinder to the environment. Throw in features like an LED headlight and fully digital instrumentation, and this is quite a good deal. Especially at Rs 72,455.

Must recommend scooter

Must suggested by my friends and I've watched some of youtube videos for reference and I'm quite satisfied with the reviews also if Suzuki make it more powerful by adding 150 cc engine it will blow the whole segment. I've ridden it more than 8000 kms and I'm much satisfied with it the style the design the bulkiness it's all suits me. I love it the Riding posture is quite comfortable and the seat height fir the pillion is a bit high but comfortable but not for long rides. Yes why not I will happily recommend my friends and relatives for the beast it's acceleration and pickup uff mind-blowing it feels like you're riding a jet-skie for real it's handling stability everything is out of league. I have the ex variant and it's the best one I love it. Read More

King of scooters

It is very good for long distances and the mileage is also good. I have ridden it for 400 kms in one go. It is a very good scooter and is amazing. Try it, it is a very good scooter, I have driven it in the mountains, it gives a very smooth ride. Mileage is good but parts are expensive and its service is also costly. Other scooters are better than other scooter. There is another problem with this, you can drive in the city but it is a bit heavy for the streets and neighbourhood. If you have to travel long distances then this scooter is the best option for you. I wanted it for long drives and wanted a light weight scooter, that's why I bought it. If your budget is less than 1 lakh then You can try other scooters, otherwise this is the best. Read More

very nice maxi scooty forever.

one of the best maximum scooter in india it is very comfortable for long drive and city ride, mileage is excellent around 50 km. But maintenance cost is little bit expensive than other scooter. overall it is very nice scooty. I'm also Burgman lover. Burgman rocks. Maintenance cost is bit expensive, fibre body parts quality is not very good and up to the mark. Suzuki should improve better fibre built quality. fuel tank capacity should be 6ltr. Fibre quality is very cheap quality than other scooter. I will suggest who is looking for styling performance, and good mileage. Go for suzuki Burgman street. It is perfect for any age group, long seat, not any back pain for long drive. It is very comfortable for long drive and city drive.Read More
