    TVS Ntorq 125 - Introduction

The TVS NTorq 125 now has a variant suitable for every rider, no matter their preferences and requirements.

    TVS NTorq 125

Having ridden all its key competitors in the 125cc space, and intrigued by the NTorq’s bold new updates, I was eager to find out if it delivered everything it promised on paper.

    TVS NTorq 125

The base variant is just perfect for those on a tight budget but still desire a sporty and young scooter, and then there’s the Race XP for riders wanting their scooters with a bit of sportiness. Finally, there’s the XT, built specifically for today’s tech-savvy riders.

    TVS NTorq 125

    4.0
    Design & Quality

The TVS NTorq 125 proudly flaunts its sporty intent with its aggressive angular styling language that’s anything but conventional in its category. The aggressive front apron dominates on the aesthetic front with slender LED DRLs that exude a future-ready image and provide enhanced visibility in foggy or less-than-ideal weather conditions. These styling elements together convey a peppy personality that, in my view, tremendously appeals to young riders seeking something different from your conventional scooter styling.

    TVS NTorq 125

The bodywork includes aggressive creases and bulging lines that run throughout, most prominently around the rear grab handles. This muscular design extends to the rear, where the signature T-shaped LED tail light serves as both a functional safety device and styling highlight, reinforcing the scooter’s racer-inspired image. The short exhaust styling reflects this sporty ethos and provides a nice throaty note that, to my ears, enhances the entire experience.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Colours

The choice of colours is impressively varied too, with 14 different colours through the range, from the fiery Race Edition’s Inferno Red, Drift Blue, Rush Green through to the stunning Neon on the XT, the Marvel superhero-themed decals on the Super Squad Edition; and  three striking shades on the Race XP and Disc – they  make for show-stopping machines that draw their fair share of attention on the go. I’m not much of a comic book reader, so my pick would have to be Inferno Red, which lends the lines of the scooter a unique look. The aforementioned Neon, too, is a worthy contender, albeit a bit too flashy for my taste.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Build Quality

TVS has done that little bit extra with superior-quality cues like carbon-fibre-textured panels that raise perceived quality, especially on the higher end variants like the Race XP and Super Squad editions.

    TVS NTorq 125

Fit and finish is remarkably solid, with panels feeling robust and tightly assembled. I didn’t notice any unwanted rattling or unnecessary vibrations, which bodes well for the overall ownership experience. The 12-inch alloy wheels not only add sportiness but also play an important role towards stability and handling dynamics. However, prospective owners should keep in mind that plastic body panels, even if lightweight and easy to use, require a bit more caution — I did find they can get scratched easily, and a couple of my colleagues noted that the paint could’ve been more durable.

    TVS NTorq 125

    5.0
    Features & Practicality
    Features

The TVS NTorq 125 is a forerunner in the “smart scooter” category,  with the highlight being its SmartXonnect technology on the Race Edition, Super Squad, Race XP, and XT variants. This Bluetooth-based platform provides riders accurate turn-by-turn navigation, real-time calls and SMS notification, and detailed ride information like top speed and average speed. It even includes a lap timer for that weekend warrior within you.

    TVS NTorq 125

Its LCD instrument panel is clear, concise, and legible, comprising basic readouts like speed, fuel tank capacity, twin tripmeters, and telltale lights. The top-end models take connectivity a step further with voice assist commands that allow riders to select even their riding modes or get at navigation without their hands on the controls, a segment-first. I did find, however, that this feature requires a Bluetooth phone connection and can be finicky at times.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Storage & Practicality

The NTorq 125’s 20-litre underseat storage can accommodate a half-face helmet or small day bags. This stowage also has a handy boot light and a USB charging socket and is very convenient for day-to-day commutes. For convenient and speedy refueling, TVS has equipped the NTorq with an external fuelling lid at the back. Fuel tank capacity stands at 5.8 litres.

    TVS NTorq 125

Noteworthy convenience bits throughout the range include an all-LED lighting setup, engine kill button, and a two-stage steering lock. The feature list on the NTorq 125 is comprehensive, and in my experience, its mix of tech and practicality is its strongest selling point. It’s worth noting here that while its top-spec models are stuffed full of the good stuff, such models will cost a bit more.

    TVS NTorq 125

    3.0
    Rider & Pillion Comfort

The seating arrangement comprises a wide padded seat capable of accommodating rider and pillion comfortably enough for commuting around town. But in my experience, the firm cushioning, while excellent for spirited rides, can be somewhat harsh on longer rides. The narrow footboard space, a direct result of the NTorq’s sporty leanings, hinders space for larger bags or mobility for feet on extended trips.

    TVS NTorq 125

    4.0
    Engine & Performance

Powering the TVS NTorq 125 is a refined 124.8cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve motor. On the standard versions, it churns out a respectable 9.5PS at 7,000rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. But for those craving an extra punch, the Race XP variant kicks it up a notch to 10.2PS and 10.9Nm, making it the most powerful scooter in its category right now.

    TVS NTorq 125

    City Performance

In real-world city riding, the NTorq shines. Acceleration from standstill and throughout the mid-range is lively, letting me dart past slower vehicles with ease. If you’re riding the Race XP, you’ll enjoy two riding modes: ‘Street’ mode keeps things smooth and fuel-efficient, while ‘Race’ mode livens up the throttle response and can push the scooter from 0 to 60 kmph in just over eight seconds — brisk by this segment’s standards.

    TVS NTorq 125

What really stood out to me in urban settings is the NTorq’s eagerness. The engine feels enthusiastic, ready to rev without fuss. There’s a sense of fun in the way it responds, yet it maintains the civility needed for daily rides through crowded streets.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Highway Performance

Out on the open road, the NTorq handles cruising speeds of 70–80 kmph comfortably. It feels composed, though I did notice that pushing it beyond that can introduce slight vibrations through the floorboard. It’s never too intrusive, but it’s noticeable if you’re sensitive to ride quality.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Refinement & NVH

Under typical riding conditions — say below 70 kmph — the engine feels smooth and refined. There’s little in the way of intrusive noise or vibration. That said, during prolonged rides in hot, slow-moving traffic, I have observed some heat emanating from the engine area, though it never threatens to become overly worrying.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Mileage

TVS claims an ARAI-rated mileage of 50kmpl, but in real-world testing, the NTorq 125 (standard variant) returned around 47kmpl in city traffic and 52kmpl on the highway. These numbers, of course, depend on how and where you ride. Ride aggressively in traffic, and you may see it dip closer to 40 kmpl. It’s not the most frugal scooter out there, but considering its sporty edge, I think the efficiency is fair. With a 5.8-litre fuel tank, you can expect a practical range of 230 to 280 kilometres before your next top-up.

    TVS NTorq 125

    3.0
    Ride Quality & Handling
    Suspension Setup

The front telescopic fork and gas-filled rear shock absorber strike a balance that favors handling over outright plushness. You get a sporty ride that communicates the road surface well — something I found performance-minded riders will appreciate. However, this setup does mean that rough patches and potholes are felt more noticeably. Still, the 155mm ground clearance helps it glide over most speed bumps and road imperfections without a scrape.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Ride

The TVS NTorq 125 has a riding experience that leans heavily towards zipping about the city, which means certain compromises toward its sporty nature. With a low seat height of 770mm, it is perfectly manageable for my 1.71m/68kg frame, even in stop-go city traffic. The neutral seating position, thanks to the judicious handlebar and footboard geometry, is comfortable for city commuting conditions.

    TVS NTorq 125

For suspension, it employs gas-filled rear shock units and telescopic front forks that provide adequate damping for everyday city runs. As with the seating, the suspension setup also favours sharp responses and spirited riding over outright comfort. While such a setup is good at handling small potholes and surface humps, I found that uneven roads will require more careful handling than their softer-sprung counterparts.

    TVS NTorq 125

    City & Highway Handling

The NTorq 125 is a benchmark-setter in the handling department. Agile and responsive, it’s a joy to flick through traffic or zip around tight urban corners. Weighing in at just around 110–111 kg, it’s lightweight enough to be nimble but substantial enough to feel planted at highway speeds. The short wheelbase helps with maneuverability, making it effortless to park in cramped spaces or needle through our ever-worsening traffic.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Cornering & Tyres

The 12-inch alloy wheels paired with fat tubeless tyres — 100/80 at the front and 110/80 at the back — offer commendable grip and confidence in corners. The combination makes for a scooter that, in my experience, feels sure-footed even when leaned over. Whether you’re sweeping through a fast ghat road or taking a tight turn in the city, the NTorq remains composed and predictable.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Braking

Braking performance is solid, especially on the variants equipped with a front disc. The lever feel is direct, and the stopping power is reassuring. TVS’ patented Synchronized Braking System (SBS) enhances safety by balancing front and rear braking forces and is especially helpful during sudden stops. That said, I found the rear drum brake on the lower variants isn’t quite as responsive, and the lack of ABS on all models is a small drawback. We suggest you simply skip the drum variants altogether if budget permits.

    TVS NTorq 125

    4.0
    Verdict

If you’re a college-goer or a young working professional in the market for something fun, fast, and full of features, the NTorq 125 fits the bill perfectly. It’s sporty without being impractical, and tech-laden without being overwhelming. With it by your side, daily commutes will turn into spirited sprints, and even weekend errands will feel a touch more enjoyable. While it may not offer the plushest ride or the most storage, its performance and style make it one of the most compelling scooters in the 125cc range.

    TVS NTorq 125

    Variants

With the NTorq lineup, TVS has ensured that they have something for nearly everyone. The entry-level Disc variant covers the basics without breaking the bank. Then there’s the Race Edition, with its racy graphics and Bluetooth connectivity. Marvel fans will gravitate toward the Super Squad Edition, styled after iconic superheroes. The Disc version features minimalist colours complemented by sporty racing decals. The Race XP offers more power and dual riding modes, while the XT pushes the tech boundary with a full-color TFT display and voice commands.

    TVS NTorq 125

Price-wise, the NTorq 125 spans from Rs 82,500 to Rs 1,00,650 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Given what each variant offers in its own way, this range delivers good bang for the buck throughout.

    Competitors

When stacked up against competitors like the Suzuki Avenis, Honda Dio 125, Aprilia SR 125, and Yamaha Ray ZR 125, the NTorq holds its ground well. The Avenis is smoother and more fuel-efficient but lacks tech flair. The Dio leans toward comfort. The Aprilia SR matches the NTorq’s sporty attitude but comes at a premium. And sure, the Ray ZR is stylish and efficient, but it also makes do without some advanced features. For those seeking a sporty all-rounder, I’d say the NTorq arguably edges ahead.

      Awesome to ride
Purchased the scooty in feb 2026 and so far have driven nearly 3500 kms. The scooty is awesome to ride, easy to handle, and easy to maintain. One can expect mileage of 40-41 kmpl in city. Seat and suspension is on a stiffer side but one can get aftermarket foam seats to make the rides comfortable. Awesome ride for daily commute.

Good in everything like from performance to mileage, like giving me around 45 to 50 kmpl mileage in city + highway and in city the performance was great, In highway it feels mini rocket and have great thrash. It’s braking bites are also too excellent and the throw of headlights is also the best I have ever seen.
