If not a new-gen Activa, Honda might launch a more feature-packed Shine 100 or perhaps even a retro bike based on the Hornet 2.0. Here’s what we think

    Quick Highlight:

    • Honda’s teaser video is vague, as it only shows a picture of what looks a speedometer

    • More details will be revealed on July 23, 2025

Honda India recently posted a teaser video through its social media channels, which could be related to its upcoming two-wheeler launch. The teaser does not reveal any clear information on whether it is going to be a two-wheeler launch in particular or if it’s something else altogether. Here’s what we feel:

The most obvious guess in our opinion is the launch of the next-generation Honda Activa, dubbed the Honda Activa 7G. The biggest weakness the current-gen Activa 110 has is that its underseat storage isn’t as good as some of its rivals. Moreover, it also does not get a front disc even as an option. Honda might work on these two aspects in the Activa 7G, and also might just throw in a larger 12-inch rear wheel as that’s becoming the industry norm of late. That said, Honda updated the Activa range with TFT display only in January this year, so launching an updated version again just a few months later doesn’t seem all that probable. However, if it’s indeed the Activa 7G, expect it to cost around Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom), and it will compete with the TVS Jupiter 110.

Another probability could be the launch of a more feature-packed Honda Shine 100. Looking at Honda’s current bike lineup, there’s a fairly big price gap between the Shine 100 (Rs 68,862) and the next closest bike in terms of engine capacity, the Honda Livo (starting from Rs 84,176, both ex-showroom Delhi). Honda might just bridge this gap by offering a new variant of the Shine 100 packed with more modern features. If our guesstimate is true, then the new Shine variant might come with a digital instrument console (possibly the same one as the Livo), a front disc, perhaps an LED headlight as well. These features should make the Shine 100 better suited to rival more feature-packed variants of the best-selling bike in India, the Hero Splendor Plus. If Honda indeed comes up with this variant, then it would be wise to price it at around Rs 72,000 (ex-showroom).

There’s also one more possibility, although we must admit this is a bit ambitious: a retro bike. Back in April 2025, Honda patented the CB190TR in India, which is a neo-retro motorcycle that looks oddly similar to the now-discontinued Honda CB300R. However, the CB190TR uses the same engine as the Hornet 2.0. Currently this motorcycle is being sold in the Chinese market, and it makes a lot of sense for Honda to bring this bike here as it will not have to spend a lot on research and development as it is based on an already-existing product. It also makes sense from a sales perspective considering the fact that the Japanese brand sold only 923 units in June 2025, a massive 56% decrease in sales when compared to the same month last year. The retro segment is booming in India, and with the CB300R gone, Honda has no bikes in the affordable category other than the CB350 range. The CB190TR, if launched, could cost around Rs 1.65 lakh (ex-showroom), and will compete with the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the TVS Ronin.

Whatever it is, we will know what Honda is up to tomorrow (July 23, 2025) as The brand has mentioned “23rd July is not just another day”date in the teaser.

      Overall best scooter in class.
Best Build Quality. Same performance over the long time horazone. Smoother engine noise all time. Very Low maintenance, superb Breaking system and H-smart Key feature as well new TFT display with turn by turn Navigation. Overall it has all included package that scooter must have in this era. Ride on Activa 125 is always feel safe and confident. Best scooter city family rides. and best part is it keep same performance even after 5 year if mainteined properly compare to at peer brands scooters in market. Definite recommendation because features are limited, but whatever is given is well tested and bug free for lifetime. No flashy features that will fail down over the time. That is what is Honda known for. Never fails at any features provided.
