Indian Motorcycle Launches 2025 Cruiser Lineup In India

Indian Motorcycle has announced the prices of its 2025 lineup. The updated range includes bikes from the Indian Chief, Chieftain, Challenger, Springfield, Pursuit, and Roadmaster series. Here’s breakdown of the 2025 Indian Motorcycle prices: 

Indian Chief

The Indian Chief is a cruiser motorcycle based on the brand’s Thunderstroke 116 engine platform. The Chief holds a special place in the Indian lineup as it carries the same name as the original Indian Chief from a century ago. It features a typical cruiser-like design and is powered by the 1,890cc air-cooled V-Twin engine that outputs 156Nm at 3,300rpm. 

The Indian Chief lineup includes the regular Chief, slightly sporty Sport Chief range, factory custom Chief Bobber, and vintage-themed Super Chief. Almost all of these bikes come in standard, Limited or Dark Horse configurations. These configurations offer different features and accessories as standard.All the variants get a 4-inch TFT display with full-fledged navigation and other connected features.

Indian Challenger

The Indian Challenger is a bagger motorcycle, which is meant for long distance touring. Motorcycles in this genre feature extra storage in the form of hard-panniers as standard. The Challenger has a typical bagger design, with the panniers and also gets a frame mounted fairing as standard, making the bike quite imposing. 

The Challenger series features the more powerful 1834cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine which outputs 181.4Nm at 3,800rpm. In this sense, the bike is a bit more modern compared to the Indian Chief lineup.

Indian Chieftain

The Indian Chieftain is bagger style-motorcycle, similar to the Challenger but with a fork-mounted fairing. It can be had with either of two engine options –  an 1,834cc liquid-cooled V-twin or an 1,890cc air-cooled V-twin engine. This offers riders a lot more flexibility when it comes to selecting the model with powertrain which works for them.

The main difference between the two configurations (other than the power difference) is the features. The 1834cc engine configuration offers a lot more features, including modern bits like rear collision warning lights, blindspot warning, brake hold control, among others. 

Indian Springfield

The Indian Springfield is the most retro-looking cruiser bike in the Indian lineup. It feels genuinely American, thanks to the generous usage of chrome elements, and a curvy bodywork. It is powered by the 1811cc air-cooled Thunderstroke 111 engine, which outputs 161.3Nm.  

The retro-looks aside, the bike still gets a lot of modern features including riding modes, keyless ignition and cruise control. The bike is offered in the standard guise and a blacked-out, factory-custom themed Springfield Dark Horse variant.

Indian Pursuit & Roadmaster

The Indian Pursuit is a premium touring bike, featuring more spacious seats for the rider and the pillion, with the top box also doubling up as cushioned backrest along with arm-rest for the pillion. The bike is powered by the 1,834cc liquid-cooled V-twin, and gets a ton of touring features such as heated seats and grips, adjustable fairing vents, and, most importantly, electronically-adjustable preload for the rear suspension.

The Indian Roadmaster, on the other hand, features the air-cooled, 1890cc V-twin engine but is as feature-packed as the Pursuit. The bike also gets a more premium, retro-styling with the use of chrome elements, as opposed  to the modern looks of the Pursuit.

Indian’s price announcement of its 2025 lineup comes just after Harley-Davidson’s launch of the 2025 bikes in India. While both brands have a good variety of cruisers catering to riders (with deep pockets) having different needs, Indian does not have as wide a reach considering it is available only in 6 cities in the country. Also note that the 2025 Indian Scout will likely be launched in the coming months.
