Honda CB500F Spotted At Dealership, Launch Soon?

The bikemaker could be gauging customer interest on the 500cc streetfighter

The Honda CB500F has been spotted at a dealership in Bengaluru. While the India launch details of the 500cc streetfighter is unknown, is there a possibility that it could be introduced in India? We analyse:

Honda had promised to launch bikes based on its highly competent 500cc platform in India, however, the only model that did come here is the CB500X. And it might just be time for BigWing to expand its 500cc portfolio here, as the naked segment as well as the mid-displacement space is booming in the country.

It makes perfect sense as the streetfighter genre appeals to a much wider set of audience compared to other genres. That said, the CB500F found at the Bengaluru dealership could be a one-off and might have been put on display just to gauge customer interest.

The Honda CB500F comes packed with a 471cc, parallel twin, liquid-cooled engine making 47.5PS and 43Nm. If the streetfighter does come to India, expect it to carry a price tag of around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). Its closest rival would be the Benelli Leoncino 500.

Overall Good Bike

The Honda CB500F is a 470cc bike with a sleek design and average to good looks. It comes with dual-channel ABS and front and rear disk brakes. It can go up to a top speed of around 190 kmph and has good performance. It has a 17-liter field tank and a liquid-cooled engine. The overall riding experience was powerful and the bike felt great except for a little discomfort while riding due to a little low handlebar. It can be great for shorter distances but for long rides, it feels uncomfortable. It gives around 28 kilometers per liter which are not bad compared to the performance.Read More
