    Which e-scooter fits your requirement?

The electric two-wheeler market has garnered a lot of traction in the past few years. The scooters at the top of the chain, especially, have been raking in decent sales despite all of them carrying a pretty substantial price tag post application of Fame II subsidy.

So, if you’re spending a six-figure amount on a scooter, it’s only fair that you’d wanna know how much of the money the scooter is actually able to justify. Let’s dive deep into the rabbit hole and find out:

    Scooter

    Variant

    Price

    TVS iQube Electric

    Standard

    Rs 1,12,230

On-road Bengaluru, including FAME II subsidy

    S

    Rs 1,20,183

    Ola S1

    S1 Air

    Rs 84,999 - Rs 1,09,999

    Ex-showroom Bengaluru, including FAME II

    S1

    Rs 99,999- Rs 1,09,999

    S1 Pro

    Rs 1,30,999

    Ather 450X

    450 Plus

    Rs 1,35,452

Ex-showroom Bengaluru, including FAME II & Ather Dot charger

    450X

    Rs 1,58,462

    Bajaj Chetak

    Standard

    Rs 1,51,910

    Ex-showroom Bengaluru

    Hero Vida V1

    V1 Plus

    Rs 1,45,000

    On-road Bengaluru, including FAME II

    V1 Pro

    Rs 1,59,000

    Okinawa Okhi-90

    Standard

    Rs 1,86,006

    Ex-showroom

    Okinawa IPraise+

    Standard

    Rs 1,45,965

    Ex-showroom

    Okinawa Praise Pro

    Standard

    Rs 99,645

    Ex-showroom

The TVS iQube Electric, very much like the scooter itself, carries a rather sweet price tag. When compared to the other scooters listed above, its price tag is very justifiable and we quite liked the scooter when we rode it

Next on the list is the Ola S1 series. With its recent update, Ola has added three new variants to its lineup and there’s now an Ola for everyone. What these new variants mean is more for the customer. An Ola Electric scooter can now be had from a 110cc scooter-rivalling Rs 84,999, going up to Rs 1,29,999 (prices are ex-showroom and inclusive of Fame II subsidy), which is premium scooter category. That, combined with the endless features on the scooter makes it sound like a mouth-watering deal.

The elephant in the room, when it comes to the Ather 450X, is its price. Yes the scooter is pricey. But it tries to justify the price with its sharp handling and thrilling performance, things that’s made the scooter a favourite among many of us at BikeDekho. More importantly, Ather has been building up its credibility over the years and the 450X Gen 3.1, much like its previous iterations, has proven itself to be a reliable scooter.

The Bajaj Chetak is pricey….just pricey, unfortunately. Its performance felt mild and in today’s modern day and age, its features are rather limited. The price tag, hence, just seems non-justifiable

With the Vida V1 we were expecting Hero to bring about a revolution in the EV segment with respect to pricing and the marque has managed to do that for all the wrong reasons. The Vida V1 Pro is the most expensive electric scooter on sale in India. Yes, it is a premium product and comes bundled with a bunch of features, but it’s a product from Hero MotoCorp, a brand renowned for its value proposition. That coupled with its inconsistent build quality and average performance made us want for more.

Moving to the Okinawa scooters now. While the Okhi-90’s price seems to be an alarmingly high one, it’s exclusive of all the subsidies, so the final on-road price is bound to decrease. What it boasts of, for that money, is a massive 40-litre under-seat storage with boot light, keyless operation, digital console and a lot more. That said, we’ve not ridden any of the Okinawas and hence cannot comment on the riding experience.

    Verdict

So what does all this data lead to? The TVS iQube Electric strikes a good balance between price and performance. If you want to go for a petrol scooter-rivalling price with loads of fancy features, the Ola S1 Air sounds mouth-watering and if outright performance is your thing, nothing beats the fantastic Ather 450X. These three scooters manage to outshine all the other ones on the list.
