Royal Enfield is all set to launch the Himalayan 440 in India tomorrow, September 4, 2026. The new adventure bike is based on the Scram 440 platform and will sit below the Himalayan 450 as a simpler yet capable alternative. Here’s all we know so far about the bike.
What We Know So Far
The new Himalayan 440 will have a similar design to the older Himalayan 411 and will get minimalist body panels, a muscular metal fuel tank, wide handlebar, and a split seat setup. It will also get a windscreen along with a luggage rack at the rear for additional practicality.
Powering the Himalayan 440 will be the same engine as the Scram 440. In the Scram, the 443cc single-cylinder engine makes 25.4 PS and 34 Nm, which is 1.1 PS and 2 Nm more than the older Himalayan 411. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. We expect similar power figures in the Himalayan 440 as well, but we will only know the exact power figures upon its launch.
The slight bump in power and torque, along with the addition of a sixth gear, could make the bike better suited for highway riding, where the older Himalayan 411 struggled a bit.
The bike will get a 21-inch front and a 17-inch rear spoked wheel with tubed tyres. It will get long-travel suspension at both ends, with a telescopic fork and a monoshock, along with disc brakes on both wheels.
The bike was recently spotted, giving us a clear look at its instrument cluster. It gets a setup similar to the Scram 440, with an analogue speedometer and an LCD showing the fuel gauge, trip meters, odometer, and other ride data. The bike also gets a Tripper navigation pod that will enable Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

The Himalayan 440 could appeal to buyers looking for a more affordable and simpler alternative to the Himalayan 450, while retaining the rugged character of the original Himalayan 411. It is expected to be priced around 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the Yezdi Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom SX, and the TVS Apache RTX 300.

Powerful engine, previous version of this bike are pretty good but the current version are not practically good or styling. I expect, the upcoming version will fulfil that gap.
