The 390 Duke R has compact design, with sharp lines and creases which makes it look quite aggressive and performance oriented. The headlight unit looks very sharp with the DRLs being slightly jutting out and surrounding it. The off-set monoshock, the exposed split-trellis frame with KTM signature orange finish and the dark grey bolt-on aluminum subframe adds to its sporty appeal. The underbelly exhaust looks nice with the angular exhaust cover, and the tail section is neither compact nor large but just a bit busy and sharp looking with the exposed subframe.

The Tuono 457’s design is relatively less aggressive looking with more smooth curves than sharp edges and may appeal to a larger audience. The triple-LED headlight setup, along with the exposed twin-spar aluminium frame, the twin fairing pods alongside the muscular tank and minimalist sculpted bodywork makes it an aggressive, yet smooth looking streetnaked bike.. Being a twin-cylinder bike, it looks a bit larger than the 390 Duke R, and also makes it more spacious to sit on. It too has an underbelly exhaust, and a minimalist tail section.

Both the bikes sport a suite of safety and convenience features but the 390 Duke R is a more complete package out of the showroom compared to the Tuono 457. Here are all the detailed specs:

The 390 Duke R has more adjustability over the Tuono 457, while the Tuono 457 flaunts a parallel twin engine with comparatively more power and torque. The 390 Duke R makes you work the engine a bit more to get into its hooligan state, while the Tuono 457’s torque is spread across the rev range which makes it more tractable at low revs. Both the bikes are performance-focused nakeds but in different flavours. Despite the higher output numbers, the Tuono 457 doesn’t feel significantly more powerful than the Duke 390 R while riding, this is due to the comparatively lighter kerb weight of the Duke 390 R.

BikeDekho Says

The KTM 390 Duke R is a lightweight, performance-naked bike and perhaps the most complete package in its price segment. The Aprilia Tuono 457 performs slightly better and also you get that parallel twin feel and sound which definitely elevates the riding experience. Choose the Duke if you want an all rounder naked sports bike that checks all the boxes. Choose the Tuono if you want a big-bike feel and experience and exclusivity of owning an Italian sporty-naked.

tuono 457 ( personal opinion)

Stance and appearance. it was expensive but the test ride felt awesome, the engine was punchy but i had concerns about mileage, but the thrill it gives way above all the expenses that occur. I personally use it as daily but my dad uses it sometimes, says he gets little scared due to acceleration. It's a punchy engine making it fun for rides with friends and also a tractable engine for daily runs. It has 2 downsides which, i think must be fixed, the suspension does not feel good (prolly due to Bangalore roads). and brake works good but does not feel good. yes, i would recommend this bike, especially for enthusiasts. its a good daily (except low mileage) and a fun highway bike. I just love to ride it. It fills you with spirit and if there is a feeling i would like others to have its this.Read More
