BMW F 450 GS Unveil In Less Than A WeekWhat We Can See
In the images, we can see an adventure bike with a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless cross-spoke wheels. It should have a brand-new frame that is not shared with either the F 900 GS or the smaller F 450 GS. The bike gets an inverted fork along with an offset monoshock. We can also see a long, up-swept exhaust and dual-purpose tyres. While it is not visible in the spy shots, we can also expect adjustable suspension at both ends. This upcoming GS will have plenty of ground clearance, long-travel suspension and a rather tall seat height.
The bike gets a rally-inspired design, which is completely different from what we have seen in any other BMW adventure bikes. It has BMW’s signature X-shaped headlight with integrated LED DRLs, which we have seen earlier on the flagship R 1300 GS. There is also a tall windscreen, minimal fairing, and handguards that give it a rugged look.
From the images, we can also see a parallel-twin engine which should be mated to a six-speed gearbox. The expected 650cc mill on the new bike will likely make around 80 PS. This will allow BMW Motorrad to bridge the gap between the 47 PS F 450 GS and the 105 PS F 900 GS, making it a proper middleweight adventure bike. For reference, the older F 650 GS made 71 PS and 60 Nm.
In terms of features, expect BMW to leave no stone unturned. From a TFT screen similar to the F 900 GS, to smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Other expected features include multiple levels of traction control, switchable dual-channel ABS, multiple ride modes, and more.
BikeDekho Says
At Rs 4.70 lakh, the F450 GS is BMW’s most affordable GS; however, there is nothing in between the baby GS and the F900 GS, which is priced at Rs 16 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi). The new upcoming middleweight F 650 GS will bridge this gap and give buyers more choice within BMW’s adventure bike lineup.
The bike is expected to make its global debut in 2028, and the India launch is expected soon after. We expect it to be priced around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up against rivals like the Honda XL750 Transalp. Its other internationally available rivals are the Yamaha Tenere 700 and the Aprilia Tuareg 660.
User Reviews
It was my dream bike and it's so reliable and smooth. It has many features, like multiple riding mods and the trophy version has a ERC that means (easy riding clutch) it is very helpful to the beginners. The handling of the bike is very smooth and it gives around 20 to 24 milage on an average in highways and its seats are so much comfortable and it has a heating grips which helps me in early morning rides. I like to recommend this bike to the proper off-road bikers and they love this very much because of its handling and ERC you can also adjust the suspensions of both side and have a good off-road experience.
