The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V was recently updated with more features and new colours. It goes up against the Bajaj Pulsar N160 SS. Here's a price comparison if you are picking between these two sporty commuter bikes:

The top variant of the Apache 160 4V is Rs 1,145 more affordable than the Pulsar N160 SS.

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

The Apache RTR 160 4V gets sharper styling compared to the N160 SS. It gets an LED projector headlamp, a muscular fuel tank, a single-piece seat, along with a golden-coloured inverted fork.

It is available in four colours: Matte Black, Racing Red, Marine Blue, and a new Arctic Teal.

The RTR 160 4V is powered by a 159.7 cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox, which makes 17.55 PS and 14.73 Nm (0.95 PS less and 0.33 Nm more than the Pulsar N160 SS). The Apache 160 also gets three riding modes: Sport, Urban and Rain. 

The Urban mode provides linear power delivery at lower revs for city riding, Rain mode offers quicker ABS intervention for better safety in wet conditions, while Sport mode offers full power, quicker acceleration and a sharper throttle response.

In terms of features, the TVS Apache RTR 160 now gets a host of new features. It is equipped with a 5-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity and call/SMS alerts. With this update, the bike also gets full Google Maps mirroring, similar to the Pulsar N160 SS. 

The bike gets additional convenience features like a USB Type-C charging port and safety features like a panic brake alert, which flashes the indicators in case of sudden braking. The bike also gets dual-channel ABS as standard.

Pulsar N160 SS

The Pulsar N160 SS gets a sporty design with a muscular fuel tank and sporty graphics that give it an aggressive look. It also gets a golden-coloured inverted fork and an LED projector headlight with LED DRLs.

The Pulsar N160 4V comes in three colours: Brooklyn Black, Pearl Metallic White and Atlantic Blue.

The bike is powered by a brand-new 164.5 cc, 4-valve, air/oil-cooled engine that makes 18.5 PS and 14.4 Nm, which is 0.95 PS more and 0.33 Nm less than the RTR 160 4V. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

It gets four ride modes: Rain, Road, Sport and Off-road. The power output changes with each mode, with Sport and Off-road offering the full 18.5PS and 14.4Nm, while Road and Rain modes reduce power. ABS is also most sensitive in Rain mode and least sensitive in Sport and Off-road.

In terms of features, the Pulsar N160 gets a 5-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, a ride-by-wire throttle, turn-by-turn navigation, and call & SMS alerts. The N160 SS also gets full Google Maps integration and Wi-Fi connectivity. It gets dual-channel ABS and a hazard light switch as standard, along with traction control as a safety feature.
