    Quick News Highlights:

Triumph has announced a price cut on its Speed bike models (400 and T4) in India, just ahead of the festive season. This surprising move goes in the exact opposite direction of the recent increase of GST on bikes above 350cc, which rose to 40% from the earlier 31%.

The Speed 400 is a really good retro-styled roadster, one that’s really easy to ride. Its updated pricing is now almost the same as its launch price. As for the T4, the Caspian Blue was priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, and rest of the 4 colours at Rs 2.06 lakh previously.

    Triumph-Bajaj Partnership

The decision was made jointly by Triumph and Bajaj – which manufactures the motorcycles in India. Instead of passing on the higher tax burden to customers, the companies have chosen to absorb the additional cost.

    Brand Statement

Manik Nangia, President, Probiking at Bajaj, said: “The Speed 400 and Speed T4 have set benchmarks in performance, design, and accessibility. By absorbing the impact and introducing a price slash, Triumph and Bajaj Auto are reaffirming their focus on the Indian market and its customers, ensuring the Speed range continues to deliver unmatched value. We have also seen monthly volumes nearly double since FY23-24, with a strong surge in demand before the GST revision, which is a clear reflection of the trust and aspiration customers associate with Triumph. We are confident of sustaining this momentum going forward.”

    BikeDekho Says

The announcement reflects a different approach compared with other motorcycle makers, many of whom raised prices in response to the GST revision. For Triumph, the price cuts are not only about sales during the festive season but also about reinforcing its presence in India’s growing premium motorcycle market.
