BREAKING: Multiple New Bikes Incoming From Honda

The bikemaker hopes to challenge Hero MotoCorp’s domination in the Indian market.

The bikemaker hopes to challenge Hero MotoCorp’s domination in the Indian market

Atsushi Ogata, President, MD and CEO of Honda Two-wheeler India has revealed that the Japanese giant has two motorcycles lined up for the Indian market in the immediate future.

There are 160cc and 300-350cc bikes in the pipeline from Honda. We suspect the bikemaker would try to introduce both these motorcycles before the BS6-2 OBD regulations kick in from April 1 2023.

While Honda, too, is plagued by the shortage of semiconductors, the demand for two-wheelers is gathering steam with the reopening of schools and offices, Ogata said.

The 160cc bike is likely to be a more premium alternative to the Honda Unicorn, something to go up against the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar N160. It’s likely that the 300-350cc bike, on the other hand, will be an adventure/touring motorcycle based on the Honda CB300F’s 293cc engine, something similar to what the brand did with the Hornet 2.0 and CB 200X. While we found the CB300F a rather underwhelming bike when we rode it, we hope that things would get better if Honda decides to offer it in a more touring-friendly  format.

It's the quintessential sensible commuter motorcycle. If your priorities are a battery smooth engine, exceptional comfort, low running costs, and unmatched reliability, the Unicorn 160 is one of the best choices you can make.
