It gets dual-channel ABS, and OBD-2B compliance
-
Remains unchanged mechanically and feature-wise
TVS Motor Company has launched the 2025 Apache RTR 160 in India at a price of Rs 1,34,320. This price is Rs 3,800 more than the then top-end Racing Edition which costs Rs 1,30,520 (both prices ex-showroom). What’s new in the 2025 version is that it gets dual-channel ABS and an OBD-2B compliant engine.

Design
The 2025 TVS Apache RTR 160 carries forward the same aggressive styling with red alloy wheels, sharp tank extensions, and an overall muscular stance. What’s new this time is the Matte Black colour option.

Engine
The TVS Apache RTR 160 is powered by the same 159.7cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 16.04PS at 8,750rpm, 13.85Nm at 7,000rpm, and is paired to a five-speed gearbox.

Underpinnings
The bike is built on a double-cradle frame, a telescopic front fork, and dual rear gas-charged shock absorbers. It gets a 270mm front and a 200mm rear - both petal discs, and now with dual-channel ABS with this update. It rides on 17-inch wheels with a 90-section front and 120-section rear tyre - both tubeless. It has a manageable kerb weight of 138kg, fuel tank capacity of 12 litres, reasonable 790mm seat height, and a healthy 180mm of ground clearance.

Features
The Apache RTR 160 gets an LCD console with ‘TVS SmartXonnect’ Bluetooth connectivity, voice assist, turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, and ride data. It also has 3 ride modes: Sport, Urban, and Rain. They adjust the bike's engine output figures and rear ABS sensitivity.

Rivals
In the 160cc segment, the 2025 Apache RTR 160 competes with bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar N150, Hero Xtreme 160R 2V, Honda SP160, and the Yamaha FZ-S Fi. With the addition of dual-channel ABS, the Apache ups its safety quotient against these rivals.

BikeDekho Says
With the added safety of dual-channel ABS, the price hike of Rs 3,800 for the 2025 TVS Apache RTR 160 is pretty reasonable, we think. This is also the first time the Apache RTR 160 2V gets dual-channel ABS in India. Kudos to TVS for adding a much-needed safety feature instead of taking the easy way out and simply updating the bike with emission compliance.
User Reviews
A Durable Bike with Excellent Ride QualityI chose this bike because I love riding the Apache. I haven't found the same level of comfort in any other bike in this segment and the riding posture is also very comfortable and perfectly balanced and relaxed on every ride. The ride quality of Apache RTR 160 has been very good so far. For long routes, city ride the most important things are comfort and riding posture, and that's what really makes this bike's ride quality better. Everyone has their own choice, but I would definitely choose this bike in this segment. As per current regulations, bikes are subject to scrapper after 15 years, and if this bike is properly maintained, it still run like day one even after 15 years. It's a very durable machine.Read More
