Bajaj Pulsar N160 And N160 S: Mileage Explained

Bajaj recently launched the Pulsar N160 S, compared to the standard Pulsar N160 it gets a brand new 4-valve 164.5cc engine. The engine produces slightly more power and comes with additional features than the standard bike. 

Price 

The Bajaj N160 2V is much more accessible, with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 1,16,142, whereas you pay a premium of Rs 17,369 for the N160 4V. But the 4V gets you a slightly punchier engine and more convenience features.

Bajaj Pulsar N160 Mileage

The Pulsar N160 4V has a lower mileage than the N160 2V, but that’s understandable since the former has a more powerful engine. Now, considering a monthly running of 1000 km, here is what that should translate to in the real-world. 

Monthly Fuel Costs

While the individual mileage is lower between the variants, the fuel consumed over 1000 km is not that far apart. Considering an national average fuel cost of Rs 108 per litre, it will cost about Rs 2,297 for our estimated monthly running. The same will be about Rs 2,454 for the Pulsar N160 S & SS.

That’s a difference of about Rs 157 per month in fuel costs.

While the difference in fuel costs is about Rs 157 per month, this can compound to a much higher amount over the course of the bike’s ownership. If you are someone who prefers outright performance and is willing to spend extra for the bike as well as in fuel costs, the Pulsar N160 S & SS will make more sense. 

However, if your priority is saving up on petrol costs, and can do with slightly lower performance, the N160 2V would be more suitable. It will also save you money upfront while buying the bike.
