2025 Yamaha MT-03 and MT-25 Launched

The bikes now get a slip-and-assist clutch, smartphone connectivity and new colour schemes

Quick News Highlights

  • Yamaha MT-03 and MT-25 launched in Japan

  • The bikes now get new colour schemes along with new safety features

  • Both bikes get similar underpinnings

Yamaha has launched the MT-03 and MT-25 in the Japanese market. The MT-03 is priced at 6,25,000 Yen (approximately Rs 3.59 lakh) while the MT-25 is priced at 5,75,000 Yen (approximately Rs 3.31 lakh). The updated motorcycles now get a slip-and-assist clutch for more safety, an LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity and slight design changes along with new colour schemes. Let’s have a look at what these Japanese streetfighters offer:

Yamaha MT-03:

The new Yamaha MT-03 now gets a sleeker look, thanks to the slightly redesigned body panels with aggressive graphic elements and sharp DRLs for a sporty look. The MT-03 gets three new colour schemes: Matte Light Gray Metallic, Deep Purpulish Blue Metallic, and Matt Dark Gray Metallic.

The bike is powered by a 321cc, liquid-cooled, inline-twin cylinder engine producing 42PS and 30Nm and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox assisted by a slip-and-assist clutch. The MT-03 is known for its reliability and linear power delivery but lacked convenience features that have been added with this update. The bike now gets a digital LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity through the Yamaha Y-connect app along with a USB Type-A charging socket.

Yamaha MT-25:

The new MT-25 too, gets similar styling elements as the MT-03 with a redesigned seat, body panels and sleeker DRLs while being offered in the same three colour schemes as the MT-03. The MT-25 is powered by a 249cc, liquid-cooled, inline-twin cylinder engine producing 35PS and 23Nm and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The MT-25 gets a similar silhouette as that of the MT-03 and shares most of the underpinnings and features.

Both bikes get 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 110-section front and 140-section rear tubeless tyres. The bikes get a 37mm inverted fork and a KYB monoshock. Both bikes get a 298mm front disc and 220mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS as standard. They get a seat height of 780mm, ground clearance of 160mm, weigh 166kg (kerb) and come equipped with a 14-litre fuel tank.

BikeDekho Says

The MT-25 is unlikley to arrive in India because Yamaha already sells the MT-03 in India. That being said, we hope that the 2025 updates of the Japanese-spec MT-03 make their way to the Indian-spec bike as they'll help the streetfighter put up a much better fight against the KTM 390 Duke and the Aprilia Tuono 457

The Raging Beast

It is a great bike. The pickup and power delivery is amazing. I love this bike. Yamaha have done a great job Yamaha. The top speed goes beyond 160 for me being a big guy. But the exhaust notes on this with an after-market exhaust is 💕. I love this bike. The price is worth the thrill this gives. I give it a 10/10. Read More
