Honda recently launched the 2025 Vario 125 in Malaysia. The Vario is Honda’s popular sporty scooter series in the south-east asian market. For 2025, the Vario 125 gets new colour options along with a Smart-key feature. Here’s everything about this updated 125cc scooter:
What’s New
The Honda Vario 125 retains the same aggressive and sporty design as before, along with a sharp looking apron mounted LED headlight setup. We never had any complaints about its looks but Honda has now made it even more exciting for 2025, with the introduction of two new striking colour options: Matte Blue and Vibrant Blue. The sharp lines in the graphics go really well with the angular body panels of the scooter in our opinion. The two colours add to the already existing Magenta and Silver options.
Along with this, the Vario 125 now gets Honda’s Smart-key feature, which enables useful features like keyless ignition and an anti-theft alarm. This is a lot similar to the H-Smart variant of the Honda Activa range sold in India
What's Unchanged
Other than the aforementioned updates, the Vario 125 remains unchanged. It still gets the same 125cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which makes 11.5PS and 11.74Nm. It uses a conventional telescopic fork and a rear monoshock. The scooter runs on a 14-inch alloy wheel setup with a 90-section front and a 100-section rear tyre. It also gets a front disc and rear drum brake setup with CBS (combined braking system). The seat height is kept at 769mm and the scooter weighs 112kg (kerb).
The Vario 125 gets a digital instrument console which shows all the basic information, but misses out on smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation. At 18 litres, the underseat storage is fairly decent, and is the same as the one on the Activa 125/ Dio 125. There are also 2 cubby holes on the apron, a USB charging port and an idling stop/start feature.

Even with the added updates, Honda has kept the pricing for the Vario 125 unchanged at RM 7,268 (Rs 1,46,783) without taxes. Honda patented the bigger Vario 160 in India back in 2022, but it’s only to secure the legal rights to the scooter. We wish the Dio had the Vario 125’s design but without any changes to the engine or underpinnings. That would’ve ensured it looked unique among all the other 125cc scooters in the country, while also being fairly priced. Ironically, Honda’s tagline is “The Power of Dreams”, but in this case, one can only dream.

Easy to ride and stylish look , perfect colour and good milleage, the comfort of this bike is very nice. And the safety for the all the riders especially for the women, they can easily handle the bike we easily turn and move the bike through the ride. Mileage is nice. The cost of maintenance is standard to maintain. The stylish wise it's looks nice and in front the spacious for luggage. Maine yeh bike iske stylish looks aur family-friendly comfort ke liye chuni hai. Yeh acha mileage deti hai aur highways par kaafi smooth chalti hai. City rides mein suspension thoda stiff lagta hai, par iski overall reliability isse perfect banati hai. Ride ab tak kamaal ki rahi hai. Iska comfort aur handling behad zabardast hai, jisse highway par tez speed mein chalana aasan ho jata hai. Mileage bhi kaafi acha hai. Bas bumpy city roads par suspension thoda stiff lagta hai. Highly recommend! Yeh un logon ke liye perfect hai jo daily commute ke sath weekend highway rides pasand karte hain.
