Bajaj is reportedly working on its first commuter electric bike, which is expected to launch in FY28 (1 April 2027 to 31 March 2028). The bike will first be launched in the international market, perhaps in Africa and Latin America, where Bajaj has a strong hold. Later, the bike will be introduced to the Indian market.
Design
Bajaj’s electric bike is likely to be a part of the commuter segment and should have a simple design and comfortable ergonomics focused on everyday convenience. Expect it to have an upright riding position with a long seat and hopefully a somewhat sporty commuter design.
Engine, Performance and Range
The upcoming Bajaj electric bike is expected to offer performance equivalent to a 150cc petrol-powered motorcycle. It is likely to have enough battery capacity to comfortably get through day-to-day tasks and should be between 100 and 150 km.
Rivals to consider
The upcoming Bajaj electric motorcycle will go against the Oben Rorr Evo and Revolt RVX. As the launch of the bike is still quite far ahead in the future, we await seeing which upcoming electric bikes would give it strong competition.
