Revolt RVX

The Revolt RVX is the latest addition to Revolt’s electric motorcycle lineup, positioned between the RV400 BRZ and the standard RV400. While it shares most of its design and mechanical underpinnings with the RV400, the RVX brings meaningful improvements in performance, features and overall value. At an introductory price of Rs 1,29,990 (ex-showroom), it is one of the most value-for-money electric motorcycles in Revolt's range.

The Revolt RVX looks almost identical to the RV400, retaining the familiar sporty commuter styling. It gets the same oval-shaped LED headlight, muscular tank shrouds, sharp tail section and clean side profile. While there are no major cosmetic changes, the RVX is offered in three fresh colour options: Pearl Black, Electric Blue and Eclipse Red, which we have explained in our Revolt RVX colour explainer.

Safety Features

The Revolt RVX comes equipped with disc brakes at both ends with a Combined Braking System (CBS). Additionally, the bike features Hill Hold Assist, which prevents the motorcycle from rolling backwards on inclines, adding confidence while riding in traffic or on steep roads.

Convenience Features

The biggest upgrade on the RVX is its new 3.5-inch colour LCD console that replaces the older monochrome LCD unit. The console supports Bluetooth connectivity and offers call and SMS alerts, music controls, OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, geo-fencing, vehicle locator, reverse mode, walk assist, immobilisation, and Boost mode (It gets 3 more riding modes: Sports, City & Eco). That said, the bike still misses out on turn-by-turn navigation. The bike also gets push-button start with a remote key, a front storage box and mobile app connectivity, making it considerably more feature-rich than the RV400 BRZ.

Rider Comfort

The Revolt RVX offers an upright and relaxed riding posture, making it suitable for daily commuting. The wide handlebar, neutral footpeg position and comfortable 815mm seat height (with a narrow profile) should make it accessible to a wide range of riders. The motorcycle also gets 190mm of ground clearance, which should help in tackling rough roads and speed breakers with ease.

Pillion Comfort

The long, flat seat offers adequate space for a pillion. It should be comfortable enough for daily commutes.

Motor, Battery & Performance

Powering the Revolt RVX is a 5.3kW mid-mounted electric motor paired with a 3.24kWh removable NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt)  battery pack. The motor produces 50Nm and enables the motorcycle to sprint from 0-40kmph in a claimed 3.9 seconds. The RVX also gets a new Boost mode, allowing it to achieve a claimed top speed of 90kmph, while the IDC-certified (Indian Driving Cycle) range stands at 160km on a full charge. Charging the battery from 0-80 percent takes 3 hours and 30 minutes using the standard charger, while a fast charger can do the same in just 80 minutes.

City & Highway Performance

The RVX should feel quite lively in urban conditions thanks to its quicker acceleration than the RV400 and instant electric torque delivery. The new Boost mode should make overtaking easier, while the City and Eco modes will help maximise efficiency during daily commutes.

On the highway, the improved 90kmph top speed should offer better cruising capability than the RV400. However, it remains best suited for short highway rides rather than sustained long-distance touring.

Ride Modes

The Revolt RVX offers four riding modes: Boost, Sports, City and Eco. These provide top speeds of 90kmph, 80kmph, 65kmph and 44kmph respectively, allowing riders to prioritise either performance or range depending on their riding conditions.

Brakes

The RVX features disc brakes at both ends, supported by a Combined Braking System (CBS). The setup should provide adequate stopping power for everyday commuting. That said, we wish Revolt offered a single-channel ABS.

Handling

The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, combined with its 120kg kerb weight and mid-drive motor layout, the RVX should feel stable and confidence-inspiring through city traffic and corners alike.

Ride Quality

Suspension duties are handled by an inverted fork and a monoshock. Combined with 190mm of ground clearance, the setup should offer a comfortable ride over potholes and broken roads.

If you're looking for an affordable electric motorcycle that offers a good balance of performance, features and practicality, the Revolt RVX makes a strong case for itself. At Rs 1,29,990 (ex-showroom), it costs almost the same as the RV400 BRZ while offering a noticeably quicker acceleration, higher top speed, longer claimed range and a much more modern feature list.
