All you need to know about Revolt's new electric bike

    Revolt RVX

Revolt has launched the new RVX electric bike in India. Based on the same platform as the RV400, the new bike gets a refreshed design, a higher IDC (Indian Driving Condition) range, more features, and a new Boost riding mode as well. It is aimed at riders looking for a practical electric commuter with decent performance.

    How Much Does It Cost?

The Revolt RVX has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 1,29,990 (ex-showroom). In Delhi, thanks to additional state subsidies, it is priced at Rs 94,990 (ex-showroom). After the introductory offer ends, the bike will cost Rs 1,39,990 (ex-showroom). Bookings are now open, and deliveries are expected to begin by the end of July.

    Available Colours

    Revolt RVX

The Revolt RVX is available in three colour options:

    • Electric Blue

    • Pearl Black

    • Eclipse Red

All three shades look quite sporty, but we personally like the Electric Blue the most as it highlights the bike’s sharp styling really well.

    Numbers That Matter

    Revolt RVX Launched

    • Battery capacity: 3.24kWh (removable)

    • Peak power output: 5.30kW

    • Peak torque: 50Nm

    • Claimed IDC range: 160km

    • Charging time (0-80%): 80 minutes (27A fast charger)

    • Charging time (0-100%): 4 hours 45 minutes (10A charger)

    • Claimed 0-40kmph: 3.9 seconds

    • Top speed: 90kmph

    • Kerb weight: 120kg

    • Seat height: 815mm

    • Ground clearance: 190mm

    • Wheel size: 17-inch (front & rear)

    Battery And Performance

    Revolt RVX Launched

The Revolt RVX is powered by a 3.24kWh removable battery pack paired with a 5.3kW electric motor producing 50Nm of peak torque. It offers a claimed IDC range of 160km, which is 10km more than the RV400. The battery can be removed and charged at home or the office as well. However, since the battery pack is quite heavy, removing and reinstalling it may not be the most convenient task.

The bike gets four riding modes: Boost, Sport, City and Eco. Top speed varies depending on the selected mode:

    • Boost – 90kmph

    • Sport – 80kmph

    • City – 65kmph

    • Eco – 44kmph

    (all claimed)

As expected, using the faster riding modes will reduce the overall riding range.

    What You Should Know

    • Based on the same platform as the RV400

    • Gets a removable battery for convenient charging

    • New Boost mode increases the top speed to 90kmph

    • Uses a chain drive system instead of a belt drive

    Features And Hardware

    Revolt RVX Launched

    • 3.5-inch coloured LCD instrument console

    • Bluetooth connectivity with call and SMS alerts

    • All-LED lighting

    • Keyless ignition with remote key

    • Push-button start

    • Hill hold assist

    • Reverse mode

    • Walk assist

    • Vehicle locator

One feature that’s missing, especially considering the price, is ABS, as the bike only gets a Combined Braking System (CBS).

    Underpinnings

    Revolt RVX

The Revolt RVX gets an inverted fork and a monoshock at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with disc brakes at both ends, assisted by CBS. With its 815mm seat height, 120kg kerb weight, and 190mm ground clearance, the bike should be easy to manage in daily city riding while also handling speed breakers and rough roads comfortably.

    BikeDekho Says

The Revolt RVX may not look drastically different from the RV400, but the updates make it a more practical electric motorcycle. The improved range, the new Boost mode, and the additional convenience features make it a better everyday commuter. The lack of ABS is a bit disappointing, but considering its introductory pricing, the RVX still offers good value for money. At its price, it rivals the Ola Roadster and the Oben Rorr Evo.
