India Yamaha might launch three scooters in India named Yamaha Neo 50cc, Yamaha Fino 115cc and Yamaha Spark 135cc. The Yamaha scooter range is very popular across the world and the scooter fleet of the company is reported to hit India very soon. The scooter in India from Yamaha may be priced between Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000. The company is sure to have fierce fight with the already existing scooter manufacturers in India especially TVS Motors, Mahindra 2 wheelers, Honda.
The Yamaha Neo 50cc is expected to be fitted with 49.2cc, single cylinder, air cooled, 2 stroke engine that might churn out top power of 2.09 kw at 6,750 rpm and generate 2.98 Nm of highest torque at 6,500 rpm with the help of V-Belt automatic transmission. The Yamaha Neo will be equipped with front disc brake, front telescopic suspension & rear hydraulic unit swing, wheelbase of 1275mm, 120/70-12 front and 130/70-12 rear tyres. The scooter is to be installed with electric and kick start system for easy starting.
The other scooter in the list is Yamaha Fino that is speculated to be loaded with an air cooled, 4 stroke, SOHC, 2 valve and 113.7cc engine. The scooter will have both electric and kick start facility. Apart from that the Yamaha Fino will have V-Belt type automatic transmission, front hydraulic single disc brake and rear drum brake, ground clearance of 130mm, wheelbase of 1240mm, fuel tank of 3.7 litres, etc.
The third scooter in the line is Yamaha Spark which is believed to be installed with single cylinder, SOHC, 4 valve, water cooled, 134.4 cc that belts out a top power of 11.49 ps at 8,500 rpm and returns a top torque of 11.65 Nm at 5,500 rpm with the help of 4 speed constant mesh gearbox. The top speed of the scooter would be 110-140 kmph; the Yamaha Spark may have front single-piston disc brake and rear drum type brake, front telescopic fork and rear monoshock swing arm type suspension, etc. It is to be noted that the Yamaha Spark 135 is also known as Yamaha Jupiter MX, Yamaha Sniper, Yamaha Exciter, Yamaha T 135 Cryption X in overseas markets.
