The Yamaha R15 V4 has long been one of India's most popular faired sportbikes, recognised for its track-derived styling and sharp handling. It also comes in a variety of colours to suit the tastes of different riders. But for deeper customisation, the brand offers a whole bunch of practical add-ons that enhance the overall riding experience. The best part? They don’t affect the warranty! The accessories offered by Yamaha are thoughtfully divided into three main categories as per their functionality. For styling, there is a Tank Pad, designed to protect your fuel tank's paint from scratches caused by jacket zippers or belt buckles.
Under the Protection category, there are more substantial gear including a Brass Drive Chain Sprocket Kit, which offers superior resistance to rust and corrosion, making it a smart upgrade for riders in coastal cities or areas with high humidity. More importantly, the frame sliders look pretty sleek and subtle while also effectively protecting the fairing against light falls.
Yamaha also offers a Lever Guard to protect the brake and clutch levers, and a Skid Plate to shield the engine's underbelly from damage on large speed breakers or bad roads. But don’t worry, the bike still has a pretty decent ground clearance at 170mm.
Lastly, for convenience, you will get a complete mobile connectivity suite: a USB Mobile Charger, two types of mobile holders (a Water-Resistant Pouch and a more open Claw Grip version), and a Bluetooth Headset Y1+. Note that the bluetooth headset is compatible only with the R15M variant as it gets the connected TFT console.
For maintenance and comfort, there’s a Chain Cleaner Brush, a Seat Cover, and a set of premium Adjustable Levers V2 that allow you to customise the reach for a more comfortable riding experience.

Yamaha's accessory list for the R15 is practical and high-value rather than just performance upgrades. For everyday riders, the tank pad, mobile charger, and mobile holders are sensible first buys. On the other hand, for the riders worried about falls or rough roads should consider the skid plate, lever guard, and frame slider, all of which add a layer of protection without altering the bike's character.
For reference, the R15 is offered two main variants: standard and R15 M. The base bike comes in different colours, some with and without a quickshifter, with prices starting from Rs 1,73,050. On the other hand, the R15 M starts from Rs 1,88,694 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).

This bike is very good while daily riding is the main factor as the mileage is very good like 43 kmpl in city traffic and the maintenance cost is very low if you ride the bike properly. I had a brother who likes riding this old r15 and I was small and didn't knew any super bikes at all, and this was my first super bike which had all sharpnes at edges, the colour, the speed, it had some personality. Its been amazing bike so far, smooth, light weight. Its top speed is pretty good. It gives good mileage. It is very nice for long rides. Performance of the bike is so good. Suspensions works very well on road. Yes, for sure but take my opinion and explore different bike, It may have something that this bike wouldn't have that charm but you can go for it, if you want sporty look and a good racing bike. The r15 v4 has the old punch while handling the BS6 engine with good aerodynamics and aggressive seating position. Its very easy to reach 140+ with default setting while it was not made for the long drive push, we can try the limits where I've driven around 25,000km in the same bike as well.
