A new commuter bike has been spotted, and it features a clear ‘Hero’ badge on the handlebar clamp. The tail light, and the overall shape of the body panels suggest that it’s an updated version of the Hero Glamour 125.
It comes with a lot of crucial changes including the addition of a new electronic throttle (ride-by-wire throttle), reworked, more premium-looking switch gear, and even a TFT console. The bike could be called the Hero Glamour Xtec 2.0, and will be offered as the top-of-the-line variant in the Glamour lineup. We think so because Hero already offers the top-end Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0, so it’s only logical that the Glamour Xtec variant will also get a 2.0 version.

Having a ride-by-wire throttle means it is controlled electronically as opposed to physical throttle cable. This allows the throttle to be manipulated to a certain extent via a switch too, and this is how the updated bike gets a cruise control feature. This will help in maintaining the speed at a preset level, thus reducing rider fatigue over long stretches of road. We’d recommend not using cruise control in the city as the traffic can be unpredictable. As you can see from the images, the cruise control button is on the right hand side switchgear, along with + and - symbols on the right to increase or decrease the speed. This is a first for a 125cc motorcycle in the country.
On the left, there’s also a mode button that could likely be used to toggle through the various riding modes that might be offered. This will be the second 125cc bike in India with riding modes, after the TVS Raider 125. Other than this, there’s also a blue button on the left which is likely the switch for the Hero i3S (idle stop-start) system.

Another interesting addition is the new, premium-looking TFT console. The console has a similar shape as the one offered on the higher capacity Hero XPulse 210, but with a different layout. There seems to be plenty of space on the left side of the console, indicating the possibility of turn-by-turn navigation, along with other connected features. The bike also gets LED indicators.
Lastly, to set this bike apart from the other variants in the Glamour lineup Hero may have also tweaked the design a little, possibly including the fuel tank extensions. We can also expect more premium colour schemes in this variant.

Other than this, the bike could remain unchanged mechanically. It will likely get the same 124.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 10.7PS and 10.6Nm.
The Hero Glamour Xtec 2.0 could be the most feature-packed 125cc commuter bike in India, and would make for a good rival to the top-of-the-line TVS Raider 125 variant. We expect the bike to come at a premium of around Rs 8,000 over the current top-end disc variant of the Glamour Xtec which costs Rs 95,098 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike could be launched in India by festive season (probably around Diwali), around October 2025.
