TVS Victor BS6 To Be Launched Soon

It will be the last motorcycle under the brand’s India lineup to be updated to BS6 

• Likely to use the same BS4 engine but will feature fuel injection. 
• It could get an LED headlight and subtle design revisions to keep it fresh.
• Expect it to be dearer by around Rs 6,000-Rs 8,000 over the BS4-compliant version.

TVS recently sent out a mailer with details of its BS6 lineup. The company had mentioned that it would soon share more information about the TVS Scooty Zest 110 and the TVS Victor, hinting at their launch in the near future. TVS is likely to launch both the two-wheelers by the end of this month or by early-June 2020. We’ve already covered all the details of the TVS Scooty Zest 110 which you can read here.

Coming back to the TVS Victor BS6, the bike is likely to come at a premium of around Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 depending on the variant. At present, the BS4-compliant version of the TVS Victor retails at Rs 56,622 for the base drum variant, Rs 58,622 for the front disc brake-equipped version, and Rs 59,602 for the Premium Edition (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

If you’re wondering whether the Victor will share its BS6 powerplant with the Radeon since both are 110cc motorcycles, it seems unlikely. That’s because if you compare the BS4-compliant versions of the Radeon and the Victor, they make different amounts of power and torque (9.6PS and 9.4Nm in the Victor as opposed to 8.4PS and 8.7Nm in the Radeon BS4). Moreover, the TVS Victor’s engine also had a higher compression ratio. Going by this logic, the upcoming TVS Victor BS6 is likely to use a reworked version of its predecessor’s engine, along with a fuel injection system. Expect the power and torque figures to change marginally. The 4-speed transmission is most likely to be retained in the BS6 version as well. If we’re lucky, we could also see TVS offering the Glide Through Technology (GTT), which helps in crawling the bike at low speeds simply by using the clutch alone and no throttle.

Apart from the cleaner engine, the upcoming commuter bike is also likely to witness subtle design changes along with new graphics and perhaps, an LED headlight too. These measures should help in keeping the motorcycle fresh among the competition. The rest of the features like the telescopic front fork, twin 5-step adjustable series spring rear suspension, 240mm front petal disc/ 130mm drum up front, and 110mm drum at the rear are all likely to remain unchanged. It will compete with the Hero Passion Pro BS6 and the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear in its segment.
