TVS Star City Plus Special Edition Launch Soon
The recently teased motorcycle could be a special-edition variant
TVS has put up a teaser of the Star City Plus with the tagline: ‘We’ve got a surprise for you. Stay Tuned.’ Likely to be a special-edition variant of the commuter motorcycle, it could be launched in the upcoming weeks.
TVS launched the BS6-compliant Star City Plus in January 2020. Apart from the cleaner fuel-injected engine, it also got a segment-first all-LED headlamp at that time. This time around, expect TVS to provide new, unique colour schemes to separate the upcoming variant from the standard model.
The mechanicals will remain the same. TVS claims the BS6-compliant motor offers 15 percent better mileage than the BS4 version. The 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine produces 8.19PS at 7350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4500rpm. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic front fork and a pair of 5-step preload-adjustable rear-shock absorbers. TVS currently provides a 130mm drum up front and a 110mm unit at the rear. We expect the brand to equip the special edition with a 240mm front petal disc as well, likely lifted off the Commuter Bike Of The Year Edition of the TVS Radeon.
Both the single-tone and dual-tone variants of the TVS Star City Plus are priced at Rs 65,865 (ex-showroom Delhi). We reckon the special edition will command a premium of around Rs 3,000 over the standard model. The upcoming bike will go up against the Hero Passion Pro, Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear, and Honda Livo.
